It's an LED TV.
- On backlight testing before taking apart...I measure at the pins going from the backlight connectors on the power supply board - right? PS board pic is attached and those connectors are in the upper left.
Negative to chassis positive to pin is what I have been doing. Negative terminal ? I'm just a but confused on location.
The main board did get completely replaced, as did the PS board. New main board also attached.
The pulsing...

'Morning,
I get sound and picture when powering on the TV and its stays that EXCEPT that the left half of the screen will dim every few seconds then return to normal while the right side of the screen performs as designed.
Did the soft and hard reset options pulling the plug, using the reet option in the vizio menu to no avail.
I checked the mainboard - found some popped capacitors so replaced it - but that did not change the situation.
I checked the t-con board. It is getting good power. Then I removed one ribbon cable to see if I could isolate...

Vizio M557-G0 Partial Screen Fade in and Out
My first real post...I have a Vizio M557-G0 where the left 1/3 of the screen fades to nearly black then not and I can view the entire screen and whatever is playing on the TV. Very rhythmic. Other than that sound is good, rest of picture is perfect. Opened up the back and did see any bubbled capacitors. Is it an LED backlight issue. I have factory reset it twice. Any insights appreciated. Hope the pic comes thru and shows the issue.

I just joined yesterday - and after some weeks of frustration browsing about I stumbled in here searching for clues to fix the sound on my 12 year old Vizio M550NV which I still use in the 'man-cave' and am trying to avoid buying a new one for it. I replaced the t-con board 4 years ago and all has been well but for the $190 for a new main board (the cost of a Insignia 50 inch TV) I thought I'd give it one more shot.
Saw #5 below and that was my issue and pretty much knew the 'correct way' was not going to happen so I waved...
