Sharp lc46le811e one flash on inverted v

Hi guys i have a LC46LE811E and its got the single flash on the inverted v in the middle of the bezel. eg flash.......flash.......flash......flash etc

i can force it on by (-VOL) (+CHAN) + POWER tv works fine watch tv, tune change inputs etc turn off with remote turn back on no problem, unplug tv and back to flash.......flash......flash.....

i have done it once but for the life of me i cant get the "K" back up it has the touch panel not proper switches, what am i missing out or how long do i have to keep buttons down for ?

i have also tried menu "9,9,9,2,2,2" but all it does is change channels

any advise will be great

Can you post some sharp photo's of the power supply and of the connectors with legends along side.

Checked the service manual mate ? Also think one flash means backlight lamp failure.

you need to get into the service menu and reset the lamp error counter. How are you powering up during the sequence?

Recently someone said that the one of the pins on the pot had become detached and with soldering it back into place brought the Leds back on. Can't remember the model but I see there a pot alongside the Led connector in your photo.

Checked the service manual mate ? Also think one flash means backlight lamp failure.

im thinking along those lines too mate but i can see any dark patches yet wanna get to screen test to check

I don't think that powering sequence is correct IF you are using the power button.

ACTION The unit has detected a lamp error.

You can bypass the lamp error by entering the following sequence:

 When the pyramid icon is flashing, hold down the VOL- and CH+ keys on the front touchpad.

 Whilst holding down the keys, press the POWER ON key on the front touchpad.

The unit will bypass the error and the working lamps will switch on. You can then see in the panel where the fault is located.

yes that is the sequence for bypassing the error condition / counter. You then visually look at the set to try and "spot" a bad "lamp"... but you need the sequence to get into the service menu to reset the counter.

yes i have looked and there are no visable patches,
and the problem im facing is to get the "K" up for sevice mode im holding -vol and input and its not doing anything

Finally did it got to service mode lamp error 5
reset and gonna see if it clocks it up again

good.... I assume now that it powers up in "normal fashion". Hopefully, the counter will not go up again. As another post indicated, perhaps you have some "marginal" hardware connections which might be an issue. Perhaps recheck connector seating. Fingers crossed.

i will i have been turning it on and off trying to see if the counter goes up

Please execute the following procedures to enter the adjustment process mode when the power supply shuts down.

1) While holding down the “VOL (-)” and “INPUT” keys on the set at once, touch the power supply key on the set.

Please separate the fingers from key on the set when boot-up is confirmed with lighting of a central icon etc.

After a while, The letter “K” appears on the screen. This state is in Inspection mode.

2) Next, hold down the “VOL (-)” and “CH ( )” keys on the set at once.

Multiple lines of blue characters appearing on the screen indicate that the set is now in the adjustment Process mode.

If you fail to enter the adjustment process mode (the display is the same as normal startup), retry the procedure.

3) To exit the adjustment process mode after the adjustment is done, unplug the AC power cord to force off the power.

(When the power is turned off with the remote controler, once unplug the AC power cord and plug it in again. In this case, wait for 10 seconds or so after unplugging.)

Doesn't work because I need to unplug the set in order for the “VOL (-)” and “INPUT” sequence to work, but as soon as I plug the set back in the central icon starts flashing again

with it plugged in and flashing hold the power button (touchpad on the front) light should go out after a while then do vol- and input
