The tv doesn't turn on. The screen comes on for a second, then click and powers off. I have narrowed it down to the power supply but need to know how to force the power supply on. Here is a pic of the connector

Do you want others to help or just Tom ? Narr just kiddingCan you get us an image of the entire board ? Normally the Vs output resistors tend to fail O/C.

The Vs on and other voltages are listed on a small chart next to or near the connector blocks themselves. Please Do Not PM My Page Asking For Help Badcaps Is The Place For Advise, Page Linked For Business Reasons Only. Anyone Doing So Will Be Banned Instantly !

Re: LG 60PM6700 Plasma clicking
I found the place to jumper. I jumpered across the two via above and same result, screen comes up for a second then click and shuts down again, so its definitely a power supply problem. Does anyone know how to force this power supply on outside of the tv.

Re: LG 60PM6700 Plasma clicking
Check the white ceramic 5w resistors on the pcb, usually cause problems with an LG and a rather cheap fixComment

Have you not read other posts about it ? Using a resistor to brige Pson and Vson to gnd which causes the Psu to think the Mb is pulling the signals low to come on.Please Do Not PM My Page Asking For Help Badcaps Is The Place For Advise, Page Linked For Business Reasons Only. Re: LG 60PM6700 Plasma clicking
There is no VS on for this power supply.
Alastair, I am not expecting other people to diagnose for me. I just like to get input from some people on here since there are a lot of smart people here. I have determined it is a VS issue. I installed all the parts from the SJ kit and still no go. I found a decent priced power supply on eBay that I am going to buy. Spent enough time on p/s.Comment

by KYBOSHSaved this beast from the landfill this weekend.
Manfactured July 2013 in Mexico.
I love working on plasma TVs.
Its been a while but I was lucky enough to find 2 this week.
The TV powers on and stays on but no picture. Havent checked for sound yet.
No bulging caps although the insides are pretty dusty and the boards are discolored from many years of high heat.
Will start troubleshooting tonight.

by theone111I have an LG Plasma TV 60PM6700 for the past ~12 years.
In the last ~3-4 months I have been having some issues.- Problem: It started with random picture disappearing (sound still worked).
Frequency: Happened about once a week.
Solution: Had to turn off TV wait a few seconds before turning it on again. - Problem: Then it got worse and the TV started to shut down and when turning on the no picture just sound.

Symptom:
While watching, just went black and started clicking relay every few seconds.
Initial diagnosis:
Removing JUST the main CPU/Input PCB from circuit stops the clicking. No problems with any other boards/drivers. (Removing all other boards and only putting Main back in is all it takes to start clicking again)

Symptoms:
The TV turned itself off, and I haven't been able to turn it back on. The standby voltage was unstable and lower than it should be.
A weak clicking sound was coming from the transformer.
Video with clicking sound:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lAduhjNtqCA
Progress:
After the transformer, I measured four Schottky diodes. DM862C and DM864C diodes readings were 003 in both directions. After detaching them from the circuit and measuring them, DM864C was the shorted one. These Schottky diodes are SB550.I... -
by novak2Hello there,
I recently bought a Panasonic th-42px60en plasma TV second hand. The problem is :
The TV takes time to turn on from cold (being unplugged from the night for example), it tries to turn on with the clicking sound, then shuts off, then retries and so on. The TV is still working, just it takes time to boot.
From what I've read it seems to be bad capacitors on the power board, but I just want to see if anyone had the same problem with this TV.
Thanks in advance. - Loading...
