toshiba 32d1333db. No Backlight

Hi, I picked up a toshiba 32d1333db with broken backlight for cheap so I thought I would try and fix it

I have completely opened up the TV but don't know how to test the LED's

It uses "veS315WNDL-01" Led strips

if anyone could help me work out how to test these LED's with my multimeter that would be really helpful

Well. I'm pretty sure my Multimeter is broken. So will borrow someones and try this tomorrow. Thank you. Wish I found this sooner!

Right. I got the multimeter.

I have set it in diode mode and when I check the LED's the multimeter beeps BUT the LED does not come on. I have tried on almost every LED and the same thing has happened everytime. Does this mean I have to replace the LED strips or am I just doing something wrong?

Oh. Wait I don't know what i've done but I was able to light up an LED

Your testing them wrong, you need to put positive on the dead shorted strip then negative on the start of the next Led.

Hi thanks to Rb 123, I have got one of these 32" Toshiba 32W1333DB, failed backlight syndrome, assuming that the power supply had failed was about to buy another psu, a strip down has revealed that it's a failed led, only one though. Going to attempt a repair, probably the 'stack' method.
Any one know who supplies one?

Thanks for the feedback glad to help Also Flocko does lol if not look on ebay for smashed Led Tv and you can get alot of strips from one set

Hi Flocko, looking on the leds on ebay, I think they look like set 'D' type, will check later,
the tv as in the title is a Toshiba 32D133DB, the led strips have vestel on them.

most Vestel re-badge sets are fitted with this type LED+lens (type D) some later ones are fitted with the smaller type LG Innotek I will be adding these to my listing. i already list the LG larger type (type C) and A+B type are common to Samsung and sets that use Samsung panels

On Vestels the model of the Panel is a dead give away. VES315WNDL the D means the type of Led used, but also this is stated on the Led strips.
