LG 50LN5750 backlight issue

[tech2014]

This LED TV has the LG logo come up for a second or two then goes dark. I usually assume its a bad LED strip. I tested the LED connector, and the voltage jumps up to 170V, then quickly drops back and settles at 79V. I removed the LED connector from the p/s and tested the voltages again on the connector. They still momentarily jump to 170V then drop right away.

Is this a board problem or a bad LED on one of the LED strips?

Bad Led ! Tear that fucker apart and get testing them light emitting diodes ! I had the same panel the other day with 5 bad Leds in total !

thats what I thought. I hate LED TVs, fucking pieces of crap. I will test the LED strips.

It looks like it uses the typical LEDs that fail like crazy.

Is it a good idea to replace all of the LED strips, rather then just the bad ones. I heard that when one strip goes, the others fail soon after.

Budm, the link you added is for a different chassis model. I need LG LC500DUE-SFR2 LED Strips

But it still uses the same LEDs setup, LEDs with LENS on top of the LG made LEDs.

Why replace all ? I have had very good luck with just replacing the bad ones then turning the Bl down to low. Have had Tv's sold over a year now and they are fine seen as they only lasted 2 to being with. Either way the Lcd screens on these dont have a long life any way so you will just be wasting money replacing all IMO.

These LEDs are hard to find for Chassis LG LC500DUE-SFR2 .

They use the normal type im sure ? Have you got images of the ones used ?

I advise you do that saves money and effort and as I said it works well as long as you turn the brightness down afterwards.
