    Panasonic TC-P50G20 A Board Problems (TXN/A1MGUUS)

Hello all. I've previously posted about having a 10 Blink problem with my set that appeared after I replaced the faulty A Board with a "new" A Board I ordered from panasonic.encompass.com. You can see that thread here.

I've concluded that the replacement A Board is indeed bad, verified by the Service Manual troubleshooting. So now I have to order another A Board (TXN/A1MGUUS). I didn't expect to get a bad board form Encompass, as they are supposed to be direct from manufacture, but apparently deal in refurbished parts... or that may be all that's left of these since Panasonic no longer builds these sets.

Does anyone have any good resources to purchase a verified and working A Board (TXN/A1MGUUS). I see a few on eBay, though I'm a bit skeptical of buying an eBay part. The only other tip I got was for Andrews Electronics or Cumberland Electronics, both do not supply this board any more.

Second question, when talking to a (the only) local TV repair shop to order a replacement board, the tech told me that not only can they not order this part, but these boards have to be installed in a specific order, otherwise they will not work? Is this true? I can't imagine that the cables going to this board have to be connected in sequence as there is no power going to the set... this seemed like more of a deterrent to get me not to try to find and order this part.

    Thanks in advance,

    Mike

    Hmm....

10-blink, I would be suspecting SC board on a Panasonic more than the A.

You've replaced the A--Which Didnt cure the problem rather hinting to it Not being the problem.
The flow-charts for Pan sets can have you going round in circles due to the way the fault-logging works...

Best bet--Check Q661 on bottom heatsink of SC board for shorts....
I strongly suspect it'll be short--Plus a whole lot more on that SC board...

I was hoping that the A Board wasn't bad, but I also ran the test that Martino suggested:

"SC2, SS11, P35, and the 3 white ribbons on the side of the A-board.
Now turn it on, if it turns on and no error blinks the P and A are ok. Do this for less than 30secs."

This seems to isolate the P and A Boards, and resulted in still emitting the 10 blink error code. I thought it might be a bad P Board, but I had a replacement board to test which didn't rectify the issue.

No shorts on the SC board.

Success! It was in fact just the A Board. I don't believe I went through all of those hoops to setup an account through Encompass to order a manufacturer's board, only to be sent a faulty A Board. I managed to get a used A Board via eBay and now this Television works!

Anyone have use for a faulty A Board causing a 10 blink code?
