    You need to upload good clear pictures of the whole backside of the TV so we can see all the boards, right now you do not have BL-ON (ON/OFF) signal from the main board to turn on the backlight circuits.

              OK, there are 3 white fuses with Gold ends on the main board close to the white connector with wires that go to the power supply board, check and see what DCV do you have at both ends of those fuses with reference to the chassis GND when the TV is turned on.

                  ok i tested the voltage regulators that were all numbered the same the had the same digits at the top which started out with like a backwards C and the number at the bottom were all 1117 so i assume they should all be the same voltages but i have 1 that is putting out voltage that isn't close to the others.All were taken with tv plugged in and turned on
                  Here's what they were

                  U2 1117
                  P1-2.04
                  P2-3.27
                  P3-5.03

                  U4 1117
                  P1-0.00
                  P2-1.25
                  P3-3.25

                  U7 1117
                  P1-2.04
                  P2-3.28

                  P3-4.99

                            you need to trace out the back-light signal path using a multi-meter in the continuity function. I had this problem before and I remember some caps and resistors make up the circuit and then to the main processor.

                            if those caps and resistor are good then its the processor failing to send the voltage to turn on the lamps

                            you will need magnifying glass 10x or better

                              well i was hoping someone would give me an idea what to check without spending hours looking at traces.i have voltage throughout the board but it just isn't enough to kick on the backlights

                                Unless you have the diagram of the main board, then yes, it is VERY time consuming.

                                      WTF! Really? Lest see now I do not have the exact same board in front of me to trace, that is right, I have done many tracing and reverse engineering many time before for lots of people here for FREE by spending many hours of my own times!
                                      So good luck with your repair if you do not want to do some work.

                                          Vizio E470VL got +5VSB, but no 12V
                                          by Bugman1400
                                          EDITED: I thought my Vizio E470VL has +5VSB and no 12v on the PS board, but after plugging the cable back in and testing the pins on the Main board I realized that I do have 12V. I assume the 12V is turned on when the ON/OFF switch is pressed. The Vizio light in front does go from Standby Orange to White when ON. But, I still have no picture or sound. Test values of PS board are below.

                                          +5VSB= +5.09
                                          12V= +12.18
                                          PS_ON= +2.25
                                          I_ON/OFF= +3.27
                                          LAMP= +3.18
                                          DIM= +2.97

                                          Any more testing I can do on Main board or is it just a replacement?...

                                          I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

                                          Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

                                          I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

                                          The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

                                          With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                                          Assuming...

                                          Would someone please help troubleshoot a Vizio 47" TV Switch Mode Power Supply with 5 volt output fluctuating voltage. The voltage fluctuates at 5 the volt output and at the Pulse Switch Modulating IC at VCC. I have the following notes:

                                          1. The 3 main filter caps all have approximately 167 volts steady
                                          2. I have replaced 4 mosfets next to what I think is called the inventor transformer (big black transformer) pictures attached
                                          3. I have replaced Fuse F102 with an equivalent
                                          4. I have check all diodes and caps and they seem to be ok
                                          5. I replaced the 431...

                                          Failure Symptom

                                          No picture, just red vertical stripes. Google search shows quite common problem for these recent Vizio M series although red vertical stripe pattern may differ. Some call it "Netflix" boot screen haha.

                                          Where is the short?

                                          Panel has 4x buffer boards. Quickly found the 1/4 panel buffer board with the problem by selectively disconnecting buffer board flex cables.

                                          Having recently fixed another Vizio with similar symptoms that was a shorted ESD diode array ( link ) Probed the ESD diode array but...

                                          Viper22A 5VSB circuit

                                          So I have a cheap non working ATX PSU that I was learning to repair a decade ago. At the time, it blew the main fuse, bridger rectifier, NTC, and primary 9A 900V MOSFET. Replaced all except the MOSFET. 5VSB came back online. Then I poked around in it so much, measuring components one by one to a point I accidentally made the 5VSB circuit primary side went bang. Blown the AP8022 (Viper22A) PWM chip, along with a low resistance resistor and the PC817 opto isolator. I replaced them all.

                                          In the process of poking around, I also lost a zener diode that stabilize the voltage coming from...
