Samsung LCD LE32R88BD switching itself off after 2-3 seconds.

    Samsung LE32R88BD/ BN44-00155A
    Hi guys,

I have a LE32R88BD.. pinched it off my friend as he was about to wang it in the skip. The TV turns on very briefly and then shuts off all together.. Not even a standby light until I press the power button again.

I'm pretty confident with a meter etc but could just do with someone pointing me in the right direction.

No obvious swollen caps or burns on any of the boards. Metered out most of the small fuses and checked the VCC on the inverter which remains at 24v steady even when the screen goes off. All small transformers along the inverter board have the same resistance (assuming that's measuring the resistance through the lcd as well?)

Sorry if this sounds like a terrible explanation, I may require the odd prompt.

    Thank you

Two 1000uf caps under heatsink on mobo will probably be causing the issue. Common fault on them Bordeaux motherboards.

That's the only photo I've got on my phone at the moment until I go home tomorrow. Apologies for the rubbish quality.

Where's that Reecey? On the PSU or the logic board?

main board. Your picture the board on the very right.
There is a metal shield / heat sink. Open it up and there are caps underneath.

No mounting screws for the Inverter board, at least he puts the screws on the T-CON board for GND.

I took the covers off to have a look. Should I not be operating the TV without these on?

You can at least put the mounting screws in place during testing then put everything back in place after you are done, the shield on the T-CON may be used for the heatsink so you should put the shield back in place.

The screws were in but I removed them so I could check the underside of the board. I'll put the cover back on the top one just thought it would be better for you guys to see if anything stuck out to a trained eye.
