I'm working on a Samsung UN60EH6003 that I replaced every board in the unit about a month ago, because the unit would stay on for about 3-4 then blackout. I ran off and on for about 2 days and it worked fine with no problems. I took it over to friends house, he hooked it up and it's back doing the same crap all over again. Comes on for 2-3 min then the screen goes out but still has sound. I tried every input on the unit and it continued to black out with no change. Any ideas to what's causing this?

Re: Samsung UN60EH6003 Screen Blacks out after 2-3 Min
Okay I have confirmed the back is working when the image disappears. It slowly starts fading then the image starts to freeze then goes into a hologram look till the picture is totally black. Is there a way to post a video of what it's doing on here?

Re: Samsung UN60EH6003 Screen Blacks out after 2-3 Min
I just repaired this exact model with similar but not the same symptoms. I had just one LED that was shorted. Once I replaced the burnt out LED, I also had to replace some (current limiting?) resistors on the back of my power supply. (three 100u wired in parallel I believe).
Long story short, one LED overheating can take out the whole backlighting system. I have seen LEDs that work/then fail/then work again depending on heat cycle.

But now seeing the picture I agree with Cap Leaker that your panel or T-Conn is failing.
As a last resort, try disconnecting one side of the T-Conn Ribbon and running the TV. If theTV stays on, then your problem is failed/failing TAB IC on the same side as the side of the screen that was disconnected.

Re: Samsung UN60EH6003 Screen Blacks out after 2-3 Min
I know this sounds weird but if that's the case take a small piece of scotch tape and start covering up about 10 pins in on the bad side from the outside of the ribbon cable. This would Be the side farthest away from the other cable you still have connected . One of these pins hampers its ability to stay on because of a short in the panel. However it gets its data from the other side so shutting down this side will keep the other side keeping data to the whole panel.
Scotch tape must be no longer than 2 pins in width. Move the Scotch tape around on the cable and keep reconnecting and disconnecting until you get a picture And then see if it cuts out still. In some configurations where you have the Scotch tape lying across some pins the panel may look disoriented and not right because of data that needs to get to that side of the panel. But once you find the right pin that is shutting the panel down in the panel looks good when you put the tape on it watch it for a little bit and see if it kicks out still. If you're confused I'll post a picture of what I'm talking aboutDid I leave the soldering iron on?

Re: Samsung UN60EH6003 Screen Blacks out after 2-3 Min
I get a lot of these in and see a lot of problems with the T-Con board's part number BN95-00628C. I replace them with part number BN95-00944B because they have a lower failure rate. I keep one on hand in case the repair kit that ShopJimmy.com offers for less than $20 does not work out. It's one IC and two capacitors if you have good soldering skills. The T-cons are expensive to buy so try the repair kit first. 95% of the time that will fix the same problem your having.
