    E320-A0 with near death

I have a Vizio E320-A0 which is about three years old. Recently it would not turn on, so i researched a bit and learned about power cycling it. Sometimes after unplugging it and holding the start button down for 30 seconds, it would then start, but often I had to do that maneuver ten times to get it to work. Every time, when I plugged it back in, the white light in the lower left corner would come on for 5 seconds or so and then fade.

I pulled the back off and there is just the power supply board (0500-0512-2040) and the main board (3632-2052-0150(6C)). Looked at a youtube video which said to check the AC voltage at the cord (was normal 120 V) and then check the DC voltage at output jack on the power supply board. It said that should be 24 dcv. I checked and can only measure 19.5 volts. Does that mean the power panel is the problem, or is 19.5 ok, or do i have a lousy multimeter?

I know that the eeproms on the main boards fail frequently on this set, but before i bought a new board I thought I would ask about the power supply voltage thing. Thanks so much for your time.

You can start by uploading the pictures of the whole back side of the TV so we can see all the boards.
This is your power supply board?

Yes, you should verify your meter to make it is not giving you false readings.

Here are the photos. Yes that is the power board. The multimeter was spot on measuring the voltage (AC) coming out of the wall. It gave me 9.6 v on a 9 volt battery and 1.6 v on a 1.5 volt AA battery.

Do you get 24VDC if the cable between the main board is not connected to the power supply.
The other symptom you have does sound like main board problem.

If i understand you correctly, you are asking if I still get 19.5 v after disconnecting the cable which runs between the two boards? Yes, I still get 19.5 v with that cable disconnected.

Then you have two problems, if the power supply is supposed to put out 24V and you only getting 19.5V.
19.5V should be enough to run the main board but may not be enough for the LED driver circuit. So I would try to get the 24VDC back first.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                  Hi There,

This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.

After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.

                  Sony xbr-65x900c main board issues?
                  by jb_Bak
Hey guys great forum glad to have found it. I bought a Sony XBR 65X900C cheaply because it didn't work. No signs of life at all not even a light/led. All I hear is a brief high voltage sound when I throw the power to it.

Didn't see any obvious signs of damage so right away started checking voltages. This is what I see:
Power Board Connector that goes to Main board

                  Pin 03 "BL_ON": 0V
                  Pin 04 "N/C"
                  Pin 05 "STBY 3.3V": 3.5V

Panasonic TC-P54VT25 No image. A or D board?
                  by canadaboy25
I have a Panasonic TC-P54VT25 that will power on and prime the display but there is no image at all.

The panel is primed as there is a slight glow from the entire panel. This means the problem should be logic related. The service manual also confirms this and recommends replacing the A or the D board.

I have tried to get the TV to display the test sequence but I have been unable to and I don't even know if this TV has a test sequence or not. I tried following tom66's instructions in post #3 on this thread https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=26790. There was...
