    Lg 50pg3000 upper buffer

hi guys, BIG ASK, im looking for a upper buffer board for this 50PG3000, due to me trying to replace a chip on the board and taking of some of the tracks, so now im in panic mode, willing to pay for it, but not £70 like ebay.
    EBR50039005 EAX50051102,
    can anyone help ?

Thats a tough one, them tracks are very small it is possible but its hard trust me ! I can replace the scan Ics however the tracks curve around to the ribbons and aren't straight so will be difficult to do I would say im willing (if it was the Ic) but unsure how well it would go.

      Re: Lg 50pg3000 upper buffer

thanks m8, but putting the IC on has what has caused the problem, i have draged the solder down the legs and must have put to much pressure on it, and bent the legs, so trying to put them back straight has taken the tracks out, not to bad to replace the outer ones, but the others that go under the IC are never gonna be right,
its defo got to be another buffer board

Yeah, you probably didnt use enough flux or your iron isnt hot enough. Also dont use cheap flux it wont flow the solder properly and will just make it all goopy and mess things up. Also on an Ic when the pins and tracks are that small and close together, if you bend a pin dont try to fix it when its on the board them tracks lift as easy as anything remove the whole Ic, fix the error and start again.

Also £70 ? on a 720p Plasma ? These displays are prone for the PDP module to fail as well. I fixed the Psu on one a while back and turned it on and green row of sub-pixels was out (not fixable) also seen it in others cases with these Tvs. Maybe wait a while and see if one come up cheap, the company I used to work at whole liked to throw boards at Tvs we found one for £20 and it sorted the one we had but we waited a while for it to come up. Its up to you though unless you need to have it done, go for the buffer buddy

I think I may have one..but the mosfets are shorted..board is good if you want to replace mosfets..I will verify.

                      its the upper buffer board in need, not the Y-SUS, and your in the states, import charges would be very expensive, coming in to uk, but thanks for the offer;

Import VAT is only paid on items with a declared value of over £18 and import duty on items over £120.

I drag soldered my first buffer IC and bend some pins, almost ripped a coupe of traces too.
Managed to save it luckily and shall solder the individual legs this time round.

You need good flux and a hot iron to do the drag method, I tend to create a huge blob then wick it off with my iron. To remove the old chip I use hot air that the best thing to use.

                            Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

Schematic or datasheet for Plasma TV buffer chip
                            by Yanleb
                            Hi all,

I'm interested in understanding how a buffer board chip is working. I know there's about 90 outputs per chip to the plasma panel, but I'm more interested to know about the input pins. I guess that some of them are address pins, but I want to know more.

So far I've found nothing at all. I haven't found any datasheet about the various buffer chips, and I haven't found any schematic for the buffer board using them (Y Buffer Board in Samsung's terminology).

Any information will make me happy. It can be from any buffer chip or plasma TV manufacturer....

                            TH-42PX75U upper Y-buffer source?

                            Hey guys -

                            I have a Panasonic TH-42PX75U with bad upper Y-buffer - TNPA4184

Anyone know of a good source other than eBay (at ~$60-$70 bucks) or ShopJimmy (out of stock)? I picked up the unit for free. The upper half of the screen is black. The lower half works. Smells like a bad upper Y-buffer to me.

I'm going to pull the upper Y-buffer and ohm it out. Just trying to find a good source before i spend too much time on this unit.

                            Thanks!

LG 60PM6700 no image. Bad EBR73710601 Upper buffer board ?
                            by goldbird78
I have a 60PM6700 that turns on but with no picture. I am sure I have traced it down to a bad EBR73710601 upper buffer board. All power supply voltages were bang on to both the ysus and zsus board. When both buffer boards were hooked up I could hear the ysus board "buzzing" on and off every 2 seconds and both VSC & VY voltages were jumping very erratically. I Disconnected the bottom buffer and same thing. Disconnected both buffers now VY has 185 VSC 0. I hookup the bottom buffer and disconnect the top and same VY has 185v and VSC 8.3V but I now I get some pixelated image on the bottom...

LG 42PC3 buffer output doesn't follow YSUS
                            by legg
LG42PC3D -UD originally with green lamp but no display or audio.
Owner says was working, then went 'pop'.
                            All 5V caps bulging. replaced.
All PSU output voltages within spec but -Vy is low on YSUS.
One of three parallel fets between SUS_OUT and SUS_DN is zenering,
eventually shorts DG. Replaced all 3 - -Vy now OK.

Y scan buffer test point does not follow YSUS output below -50V

Note: This unit seems to expect YSUS output to park at -Vy in between
drive signal pattern periods. A replacement drive signal board confirms this....
