It's possibly a led fault. Turn the backlight down (not brightness) say to 60% and see if they stay on longer which they usually do when there's a led problem.
Willing to help but I'm no expert.

OK so you do have a LED backlight problem. Do as dick barton suggests and see if it will remain on longeror not shut off at all. If that works it still would not last too long and you would have to crack the panel open and replace those LED strips. If you figure out which LEDs are faulty DO NOT jump them wit wire as the rest of the strip will demand more current from the Driver and eventually burn out. In my experience the best repair is to change out all the strips with new ones as the older ones will fail in time and you will have to open her up again.

All the backlights light up so why would you say its a backlight problem? I just thought something other was shutting the light down. Could I check the leads to the lights with a multi meter and what shoud the readings be.

I tried to turn the backlights down but the tv does not have a backlight setting.

what is your contrast setting? what is your brightness setting? what is your dynamic contrast setting?

you might have to get into the service menu to "attack" the backlight setting.

I was thinking that testing the backlight tester with a MM or LED tester does not supply the full current and that when they are in the circuit getting full current they trip out. We have seen this before.

you could also be looking at a connection issue in between the led strips. as they warm up, they are loosing connection somewhere. either way, you will need to look inside.

Try turning down the Brightness, this set may use the Brightness setting to also controlling the Backlights level.
You can take the reading at the 'ADJ pin and see if that Voltage will go down when Brightness is turned down or not.

Thank you Guys for your help.
I just ordered a Output Multipurpose Smart LED Lamp LCD TV Backlight Tester so I might be a little while before I get back at the tv. It seems to be a backlight problem so i'm stuck without a backlight tester.

                        by max789
Hello, I have a problem with my Samsung UE48H6410SSXZG with the main board BN41-02156A and the power board BN44-00709A. Everything seemed like this, the TV could no longer be switched on, the standby LED always flashed 5x2 times. Backlight was off and no sound from TV. Also made the flashlight test and there was no picture.

                        I made the following tests:
                        1. Disconnected the main board from Power Board = backlight works.
                        2. Connected the main board and disconnected the T-Con = backlights does not work.

So I ordered a main board from Ebay also BN41-02156A but from...

                        'Morning,
I get sound and picture when powering on the TV and its stays that EXCEPT that the left half of the screen will dim every few seconds then return to normal while the right side of the screen performs as designed.

Did the soft and hard reset options pulling the plug, using the reet option in the vizio menu to no avail.

I checked the mainboard - found some popped capacitors so replaced it - but that did not change the situation.

I checked the t-con board. It is getting good power. Then I removed one ribbon cable to see if I could isolate...

                        LG UH8500 Backlight Troubleshooting Help
                        by htv239
                        Hello,

I am currently troubleshooting an LG 60UH8500 TV (2016 TV). Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Overall Issue: When TV is turned on, backlights all come on for about 10 seconds, then all go out. There is sound and there is a picture on the display (obviously hard to see without backlights, but it is there).

What I Have Done So Far: 1) Removed the back TV cover to expose the boards (Power Supply, Tcon, and Main), 2) blew out any dust and cleaned all connections, 3) Noticed that the LED backlights are fed from two separate connectors...

Christmas lights - Something I am doing wrong
                        by Francesc V.
                        Hi:

i am trying to repair this Christmas lights from my parents. They are incandescent lights, no led lights.

I have tried with 12V a 24V small lights that I found in Aliexpress but is obvious that are not the right ones. They last microseconds connected. Do they blow because of Amps or Volts?

If I measure the Amps in the string........it's only 90mA. If I measure the Volts in the "green box"......it's between 0 and 190V, but doing a little bit of maths from the number of bulbs in series.......it's only about 6V per lamp.

                        Could...

Hi everyone I have this TV which was dead one day when I tried to turn it on. I've had the cover off and there was just a pulsating/electrical clicking/ticking noise from the PSU. I disconnected the mainboard as sometimes this works to just fire it up with backlights on? That didn't help. Same noise. Then I disconnected the backlight cable from the PSU and the TV came alive. It appeared to respond to the remote and i'm pretty sure it's fully operational when there is no backlight connected.

However, I am in a dilemma.

I tested the backlight outputs with the lights disconnected...
