there is a chip marked MAX17079 http://pdf1.alldatasheet.com/datashe...17079_10.html_ on the tcon, is that the gamma chip?

somehow i missed that, well i took it completely apart to the bondings and to check if the bonds are the problem, that took ages, but they are fine and dont have a problem at all, touching them applying pressure did not change anything at all in the picture. so i guess the problem is the t-con,or maybe the mainboard? i dont know how to make sure, the question remains what could be dead there and how to test it, i would like to fix it on the component level.

thank you very much in advance

just tried that, with a hairdryer, held it about 5 mins around there it was a bit hot like almost to hot to touch with the backside of my index finger but not that hot.
i hope that was hot enough.
there was no change what so ever

    thank you in advance

i tried what you have suggested to apply heat to the tcon board, but im not 100% sure to which component i should do it so i did it over the whole board with a hairdryer for about 5 mins. there was no change, did same with the mainboard same result. i wonder if i should do the freeze thing with an aircan and see if there is any difference? or should i rather not do that, since some ppl say its not good to do, some say you can do it, its fine.

thank you very much in advance

You can try applying heat to the cheek on board to see if the problem disappears but I don't think it's going to it looks like a shorted RAM module

thx i gave it a read, i have tried to warm up the tcon with a hairdryer for a few mins to see if there is any change, and same with the mainboard, there was no change, have not tried it with freezing it yet.

    Screen Display Vertical Multicolor Lines
    by Stanley1843
Hello, I have a screen in where sometimes when I open it pop-up vertical multicolor lines (I would say the most of them are green). If I tun off and turn on the screen the lines dissapear or if I leave open the screen after approximately five minutes the lines gone. I measured the below voltages on the main PCB and on the T-CON board and the voltages are the same when it doesn’t display the vertical lines and when it displays the vertical lines. Also, I cleaned all the connectors very good with IPA. I moved back and forth the connectors and the COF tabs but the vertical lines didn't displayed...

Sony 8K XBR-75Z8H White Screen Vertical Bars Tcon Code. Help Needed🙏
    by Daren87
    Hello everyone,

I've recently been given a Sony 8k Z8H. It's got a white screen with two vertical black bars. At times it's given me the 5 blink Tcon code. Testing voltage on the Tcon I can see some low or missing voltage. I've done a basic visual check of cables and the COF. Not seeing anything obvious. The original Tcon seemed to have good caps until turning it over. On the bottom I found maybe 10 caps with both sides of the caps shorting to ground. I thought ok these caps and likely other components on the Tcon are shorted so let's try a replacement Tcon. I just received the...

TCL 50S535 bad tcon or panel issue?
    by x_orange90_x
Just bought this for 10 bucks yesterday hoping to fix it. The guy said water dropped inside from a dehumidifier hose and it started showing black and white vertical bars then went blank. When I got it home and turned it on it came on fine and displayed correctly but I was noticing faint vertical bars in the image. After a little bit I turned it off and back on and it was a black screen again. I opened it up to check for water damage and corrosion but didn't find anything of the sort. I cleaned the ribbons anyway and reconnected them but still got a blank screen. If I disconnect the right side...

Vertical Lines on Half of LCD Display
    by rfxcasey
I have an Siemens HMI with vertical lines on half of the screen. These lines aren't scrambled garbage but rather very regular in pattern and color. I have replaced the LCD with a new one and still the problem persists. I'm wondering if this isn't indicative of a bad video process chip or video memory? Any help would be appreciated. The cable appears to be OK but one pin on the header is unpopulated, though there isn't any loose wire to suggest one broke off or popped out of the connector. In the picture below where the connector is busted out of the side, I did that with my small screw driver...
