Thanks so much for fixing my problem. I cut the driver tabs off the left side of my tv and it works now! There is a little black chip thing in the driver tab ribbon, two looked burned around the edges. Photo of burned vs good attached.

BOOM!!!! IT LIVES!!! Once again, thanks to all of you for the info to diagnose and repair my TV. I removed the tabs on the side I determined to be bad and it's perfect! Now my wife thinks I can repair electronics no problem. Uh oh. But the upside is it saved me $3000 and bought me some quality time!!!!

Thanks again to all of you!

Ok, similar problem with a Sharp LC-52-64U. I have already replaced the TCON board and it makes no difference. The backlights seem to be working ok. Attached are some pictures with the left and right TCON connectors disconnected. The wavy lines are due to the cameral and are not real.

            1) With both TCON connectors connected, I get a fat horizontal line that start heavy on the left and is less pronounced on the right. Everything below the horizontal line flickers.
            2) If I disconnect the left TCON connector, the right side of the picture is good, just a little dark in the middle of the screen.
            3) If I disconnect the right TCON connector, the left side of the screen has the horizontal bar and everything below it flickers.

Also, if you look closely, you can see a couple thin vertical lines on the far left and far right of the screen. Those don't bother me much while watching, probably a different problem.

I would like to determine if I go after the tabs on this TV, or if the panel is just shot.

            Thanks for any advice.

for me the issue could be at main boarder not t-con or panel... best way put back yours org. t-con and do test t.cpn and panel as stand alone... them you will know if yours panel shot or not... read here we do write several time on how to run this stand alone test

Ok, thanks. I am trying the standalone test but I am missing something. I disconnected the 2 cables with the red x as shown in the picture. My guess is that I have to do some jumpering to get the power supply to run. Attached is a picture of the PS connector. Which signals do I need to jumper?

                Thanks!
