    Sharp LC-65N7004U / 65A6100M not powering on

    Hello Badcappers,

I have this tv that does not turn on. There are 2 model numbers on it : LC-65N7004U and 65A6100M.

When powering on the tv, the Sharp logo briefly appears with a dim S, and the tv turns off. While the Sharp logo is on the screen, the power light will blink 6 times (the last blink being very very quick).

I suspect a bad LED driver, or bad LED(s). Do you have any suggestion on how to troubleshoot this ? I have ordered a LED tester and should be getting it next week

Here is a link to a video showing what happens:
    https://youtube.com/shorts/hkBjgBdAios

    Thanks for your help !

maybe try some resets first, be CAREFUL if you go into service menu, setting something wrong in there could brick/mess up your tv.

I haven't found any service manual for this model, so I don't know how to load the service menu. The TV shuts off after like 5 seconds

I believe on some sharps it's channel down and input that you need to hold while plugging in to get to service menu.

Unfortunately there is no button on the TV itself, other than the power button. I've tried holding it a few seconds, or even holding while unplugged then plugging in, nothing seems to work. It feels like bad leds, but cant be overridden it seems.

I wolud do one more easy test before tearing it down to backlights, what do you have with just one ribbon cable attached from tcon to panel, do both sides, see if you get any display, careful not to let the pins of the disconnected ribbon cable touch the metal chassis or anything, make all cable connections and disconnections with tv unplugged from power.

hmmm I didn't try with half of the panel connected. I could try that later

                        Hi Vizion ,
I had the same model 65a6100m, the same issue sharp, red-light blink fast for 6 times, last 6th blink is fast , sharp logo appear for a second then shutdown.

How to fix this. Do I had to open its back cover?
Or what light stipe to order?

                          Hi Takaya,

You need to take the tv apart completely

This includes (but might not be limited to, as i dont remember all the steps I did) : remove back cover, remove ribbons from tcon to panel, unclip the 4 boards at the bottom on the frame, remove the outer frame, remove the locking plastic strips around lcd, remove lcd, remove plastic diffusers, remove white background, remove strips and glue new ones in place reassemble in reverse order

I have ordered a set of these from this seller

                          https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005...3eb51802kUmNfH

Quite cheap and worked ! It took about maybe 2-3h total. Ive glued the strips with silicone caulking.

                          Hope that helps !

In the video the strips are screwed in, but on these tvs the strips are glued with some black stuff and some tape as well. You will understand when you get there

To remove the strip i’ve juste lifted one end of the strip and pulled. Since i was not reusing I just pulled hard.

Regarding silicone, its because that is what I had on hand. Just make sure that you make it as thin as possible so that the strip lays flat. Also wait for it to cure for a few hours before lifting the tv up, just so that the strips dont move/fall because not glued properly. I’ve used a regular household silicone caulking tube.

So no updates from those "new members" it's customary to give an update after getting help, it's expected AND the least you can do.

                                        Hi all,

at firs, i hope this is the right place to post my question.

Im looking for a tool to change the bios logo.

everyone knows when you turn on your laptop/pc you will see the manufacturer logo like lenovo, hp, dell...

i know that HP has a build in option to change the splash logo.

but i want to change the manufacturer logo to an own logo.

I try'd Change Logo 5.0, but when i make a backup of an laptop and edit the logo and flash the editted version back on the laptop the logo diddnt change.
                                        ...

Panasonic ZT60 plasma tv with strange behavior and 8 blink code
                                        by cloo
I recently got my hands on a 60" Panasonic P60ZT60 plasma tv (european model) that has some strange issues along with an 8 blink code.
It know this tv is getting old but it was once considered one of the best plasmas ever made, and i think it is still holds on to that even by todays standards.

So, long story short. When i first got the tv it had a very bright washed out picture with very raised blacks in all picture modes and i couldn't find the cause in the picture setting menus.
After doing a factory reset this problem was gone and the picture was back to...

I write this to maybe help another with this TV.

So I aquired this TV a 2023 model. It started the 2 blink reboot problem which indicates bad panel. It was still under warranty and the repair man came by.

The Samsung repairman brought a brand new panel and switched my original boards to the new panel. The new panel then had the 2 blink error code. The repair guy said he has seen this and the MAIN board on this model will cause the 2 blink. He then replaced the main/power board (they are both connected) and put it back onto my original panel. Voila it worked.

                                        Sharp LC-80LE632U 2-5 blink code
                                        by SdlewisSr
I have a Sharp LC-80LE632U with a 2-5 blink code. I have narrowed it down to the T-Con/Panel. I get the error if both or either ribbon cable is connected between the T-Con and the Panel. If I disconnect both ribbon cables, I get no error and the TV powers up just fine.
Does anyone know if this is a definite bad Panel or is there a chance that the T-Con could still be at fault?

I just got this today and it has the infamous 6 blink code. I've read it's quite possibly bad backlights, and I intend to check them soon. However, I was just curious if the Sony logo should it's shouldn't be appearing briefly between powering on and the light starts flashing. I've read at least one other person had the logo flash quickly, but mine does not show anything at all, not even a flicker. The green light comes on and after about 5 seconds the red light flashes. So I'd expect in this 5 seconds to see the logo. This leads me to believe it could be a power supply issue.

                                        I...
