The Dreaded Clicking Sound And No Power On Samsung pn59d530a3fxza

About a week ago I picked up a Samsung 59 inch plasma that someone was throwing away. The model number is pn59d530a3fxza. When I attempt to power it on the red indicator blinks and it makes clicking noises. I know that Samsung had an issue several years ago with bad capacitors causing this problem. Please bear with me, I have very little experience troubleshooting at the component level. I did not find any bulging or leaking capacitors but it appears that one of the transformers is damaged. My problem is that I can't find any information with what I believe to be the correct part number. The power supply board is BN44-00445c PB6F-WVL. The board is stamped TX801S next to the damaged transformer and the transformer itself is labeled PB6F - VM. There are two other numbers (SC-03B and SC-110914CK) as well but those are also on other components. Can someone help me identify the part and possibly tell me where I can get a replacement? I have found a replacement board online but I'd rather spend a few bucks and hope it works instead of dropping $150 on a TV I know nothing about.

That is the transformer for the stndby power supply, so what DCV do you have on each pin of the CN801 connector? Make sure to give the pin number and pin names after each reading.

Budm, I just moved and haven't been able to find my multimeter. As soon as I do I'll post the results. LJintexas, that sounds reasonable. Thanks!

Re: The Dreaded Clicking Sound And No Power On Samsung pn59d530a3fxza

Good afternoon, sorry for jumping into this thread but I think I have the same issue or a similar one. I have a PN59D530A3FXZA. Y302. And it no longer gets the power light, I think it's the PCB on it, and I've heard that it's usually just the capacitors, so I wasn't sure if someone here knew the fix as I can't seem to find the board for sale anywhere. Model for the board is BN44-00445C I believe.

Rodeo9ine can you post pics? The capacitors should be bulging or leaking if they're bad. On ebay the BN44-0045C boards don't last long. I did find them on another site but if ljintexas has one I'm going to grab it from him.

maybe worth checking/resoldering all the devices bolted on to the heat sinks some times these get dry jointed and crack at the soldering.

The tv gets the red power light, clickes when it turns on, then will stay on for about 3 minutes, then shut off and lose the red power light.

I bought a power supply board off eBay for $40 that was being sold as possibly working but untested. When it didn't fix the problem I gave up and sold the TV for $50 on craigslist.

                                Before replacing the SMPS.
Unplug all boards except the main board.
                                Verify 5V standby
Turn TV "on" so that relays click
As soon as it is turned on verify Vs and Va (~200V and ~55V)
Then verify the 15V or 13V, whichever is present
If any of these are missing the SMPS is at fault
If all are present, even if they disappear after a few seconds, some other board is at fault
It is very rare for the power supply to fail on a Samsung plasma TV set. It is not a common issue.

Can you still read any printing on the caps? They are the same value, the resistors RP820 and RP825.
They are R/C snubber network for the PFC MOSFET and the PFC Diode.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

So opened it up and saw a resistor made of metal (pic) but can't see any writing on metal par so what ever was written on it was burnt. So I'm kinda stuck here with this. I did ask for a repair or schematics in the other group section and waiting for this but I hope someone here might lend me a hand to try and identify...

                                      Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

                                      PSU - BN44-00878A

                                      Symptoms:

The TV turned itself off, and I haven't been able to turn it back on. The standby voltage was unstable and lower than it should be.
A weak clicking sound was coming from the transformer.

                                      Progress:

After the transformer, I measured four Schottky diodes. DM862C and DM864C diodes readings were 003 in both directions. After detaching them from the circuit and measuring them, DM864C was the shorted one. These Schottky diodes are SB550.I...

I have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. Repeatable ever time.
