check for cracks by powering up the backlights.

i really think it's intentional that lcd's arent protected!
funny though, there is a Tesco (UMC) tv i have with 3-4mm glass bonded to the face!
perfect for people with young kids throwing shit around.

Older Panasonic plasmas had the tough panel stuff which could resist significant impact, but the glass creates reflections so it's bad if the room is bright. The newer plasma technology bonded the glass straight to the panel so if that glass broke the panel was dead, but it significantly minimised reflections.

You can see how tough these panels can be with the external glass screens:

To be honest people need to be more careful. It really is quite difficult to break one of these screens.

Yep its a shame, I have seen them Umcs with that super glass bonded on the front with the inner Lcd smashed. I did try and smash the bonded glass, well when I did it ended up it 1000's of little shards lol.

This screen which is a Samsung Lta320HA02 is quite durable as the glass is thick hence why I couldn't see the crack.

                that's a shame.

every damn tv i get, the stand is missing!!!!
normally i can make something up, but the UMC is so damned front-heavy that i cant mod a monitor stand to fit it.

Got another in a 40" Alba here same issue Hdmi controller burning up/shorted. Might do a video on the repair will keep you posted on what I do, really starting to think this js a common issue on these boards.

Shorted inductor means short circuit? Asus ROG Gaming laptop.
                          by mr.Data
I have a dead Asus ROG gaming laptop with liquid damage. When I measure the first mosfet, there is 19V. On the second mosfet there is nothing on the input and 4.3V on the output but it is not continuously. It is going up and down.

                          I have read this article:
                          https://www.prospace20.com/2022/03/h...ad-laptop.html
Is it through that inductors can never be shorted?

I have 2 inductors near the GPU that are shorted. Does this mean that the GPU itself is shorted? How can I know for sure?

Nintendo Switch Oled HEG-001: Second-Stage Boot Failure
                          by privato89
                          Hello everyone,

I'm facing an issue with a HEG-001 motherboard that is unable to complete the Second-Stage Boot. I'd like to start directly with my conclusion, which is the decision to replace the MAX77621AEWI chip, and understand if it could be a correct evaluation.

Before I dive into the process that led me to this decision, I want to mention that I have a fully equipped lab where I can perform any kind of tests.

                          Let's begin:

Following some guides online, I tried to understand how the Boot phase of the Nintendo Switch works, and what are the...

Hi every one. I just want to share the successful repair of my shorted Panasonic TNPA4782AB SC board.

I don't usually do it but so many parts were shorted that I decided to buy the ShopJimmy repair kit instead of sourcing each components individually. Here is the list of components the kit contained, with a remark indicating if I needed that part or not :

                          D608, good
                          D618 RF101L4S, good (See warning 1 below)

DC detection circuit failure on Subwoofer
                          by Durenth
                          Hello,

First of all sorry for my English and for my poor knowledge in transistor behavior, I'll do my best to be clear…

I have a problem with the DC detection circuit of a Panasonic 40W Subwoofer, model SW-P270.
The relay in the DC detection circuit never turns on thought there is no DC in the audio output signal.
Output signal is ok, controlled with an oscilloscope.

I found the service manual (full board schematic attached to this post) and measured the voltage as shown below, pink is the expected value indicated in the manual, red...

Fixing the Charge Circuit of the Batteries of the DC Motor
                          by Astonished
                          Hi friends of electronics

What you see in the video and pictures attached is the circuit for charging the batteries of a DC motor.

The problem is that this circuit cannot charge the batteries (3 1800mAH NiMH batteries) any more. When the circuit was OK, its green LEDs lit up one at a time to show that the batteries have charged more. But now that the circuit is flawed, LEDs light up as you see in the video and at the same time successive beeps are heard.

Please help me fix this circuit.
