    Samsung led TV power board

    Hi,
Have a Samsung led TV that after six months wouldn't power on, suspected the power board or something on the power board so bought a replacement and fixed the TV.
I still have the old power board and understand alot of the faults with these can be fixed by replacing caps and other components, if that's possible I'd like to learn how to diagnose and fix the power board I have.

I've added some pictures, if anyone has any info on what to test or how to find the fault I'd love to give it a go. I can solder and have rework station etc.

Re: Samsung led TV power board

If it wouldn't power on, so either the 5V STBY is missing ( then the LED up front will not light up either ) and the whole TV is dead as a door nail.
Also could be that the 5V STBY is working, but the rest of the power supply is not. So we would need more information on what that PSU is or is not doing.
So for starters, be careful working on a open power supply, everything on the primary (hot) side is connected to mains. There can be over 400VDC on the main filter cap, so be warned. Other than that, plug the PSU in and see if you get pin 12 A5V Stby voltage to GND pin 10 on the secondary (cold).

I would start by testing the bridge rectifier the two fuses and the surge suppression on board first. could be also a fet, transistor ,diode or cap. on the caps you would need an esr meter.

        Hi,
Standby light was still working it just blinked when trying to turn the TV on, I tested the 2 fuses before I bought the replacement board both were working, not sure which are the bridge rectifier and surge suppressor and how id test them?
        Thanks

take a 1k ohm resistor and jumper A5V to PSon. Plug the PSU in and check the voltage rails (5V and 13V).

Check the DCV between the two legs of the main filter cap after you force on the board with the resistor in place to see if you do have >360V (should be close to 400VDC), if not, you will need to fix the PFC Voltage booster first.

Samsung 59" plasma PN59D550C1F seeking advice on mystery power board issue
              by Cooperr
I picked up this TV from Facebook Marketplace, original owner described it as "screen went black after a pop" and I hoped to see an obvious fuse or cap to replace. Doesn't seem to be the case, but my experience and electrical knowledge are kind of limited for this.

The power board (BN44-00445A, see attached) turns on and Vs and Va seem to momentarily have power, then they steadily drain to zero over a minute or two as if they're only getting power from capacitors. I've been measuring Vs and Va from the test pads, with and without the other boards connected to the power board...

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
              by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

              Assuming...

[HELP] Acer AN515-55 (LA-J871P Rev: 1B) – Board won't power on after GPU investigation – Suspecting Super I/O or PCH

              Hi everyone,

I'm working on an Acer Nitro 5 unit with the following specs:
              • Motherboard: LA-J871P Rev: 1B
              • Model: Acer AN515-55-59MT
              • S/N: NHQ7JAL00403906A973400
              • SNID: 03902728734

              Initial Issue

The laptop initially presented graphic issues and driver failure (Code 43) for the GPU.

After preventive maintenance (cleaning, thermal paste, etc.), it powered on normally. We disassembled it again to inspect the GPU, reassembled...

              Samsung Power Supply Board BN44-00874F
              by Nicktronic
              Hey everyone,

This power supply board is hard to find but there are repair kits available. This board had a blown fuse, FP801S, blown PFC MOSFET, QP802CS and ceramic cap, CP809. I replaced them with parts I already had and tested the rest of the parts that would've come in the repair kit and they were fine. I powered the board up on the bench expecting, in typical Samsung power supply board fashion, to see all my output voltages but, nothing. 0 volts on CNL801, CNM801 and CNT801. The only thing I have is 170vdc on the filter caps. No standby voltage either.

              Anybody...
