I am working on a hitachi tv power supply and it has 2 domed caps. They are 3300f, 100v. The ESR measures ok but the capacitance is around 2000uf on one cap and 2400uf on the other. With 20% tolerance, wouldn't these both be considered bad.

I thought it was 10% tolerance not 20% but the dome gives it away they are bad anyway. -

Yes, this is a common failure on some Hitachi PSUs.
I have heard that if these caps are left bad for too long, buffer failure may result.
I cannot understand how this could happen but it's a good precaution to take anyway, don't run the set for longer than needed to test before replacing those caps.Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

thanks guys. I didn't have the tv on that long since I noticed the caps as soon as the back cover came off. I thought the ESR would be way out but it was 0.10, which isn't too bad. I think they should be around 0.04 ohm.Comment

Ok I replaced the caps and the TV still shuts down. I didnt notice this before but when the power/screen comes on there is a vertical bar down the right side of the screen. its only there for a second. Here is a screenshot of the line. Could be Y buffer or sustain board causing the line.

It seems that when I power up the tv, it shuts down after a few seconds. I do get VA and VS voltages for a few seconds when everything is connected as well as my other voltages. The standby LED is red then goes blue for a few seconds then flashes blue after. When I remove the ribbon cable from the logic board(see pic), I can power it up and the power stays on for about 20-30 seconds then shuts down. The light stays solid blue during this time. Could the logic board be causing the issue or the X SUS since this logic ribbon cable goes from the logic to the X sus board.

Could be bad Vscan voltage, that is low on power up. This can cause buffer damage if logic voltage still present due to SCR latch up. Or could just be maldischarge.Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

hey all, iv got my favourite battery charger here which iv had for many years probably 15 years now or maybe even more. it still works good but thought id open it up to clean the dust out of it, lots of dust inside but now its clean and noticed 4 capacitors inside it and wondered if i should replace them.
it has inside:
2 x 47uf 16v caps 105c branded as Su'scon (lol sounds sus to me)
2 x 470uf 16v LZ105c branded as G.Luxon
not heard of these brands are they any good?

I did not have any 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors but one nice thing is that it has enough room for two capacitors in parallel a 22uf and a 4.7uf @ 50 volts 22 plus 4.7 equals 26.7uf which so very close to 27uf I will show some pictures of it sometime tomorrow
This is one of the shit est boards I seen in a very long time and it was the daughter board the traces just lifting off the board I had to use the capacitor leads to repair the the traces and the main board is not any better because I had to repair several traces for the daughter board to the main board

I need help to find the value of 2 missing capacitors ( C102 and C117) on my Easun SMH-II mainboard (solar hybrid inverter). I circled it in red on the close-up picture. The 2 old capacitors are completely missing, so I have no reference. Does anyone have this board and can tell me the value or make an educated guess based on the location ?

Hitachi 32HAE2351 Vestel 17MB171 - Rotate Image
Mainboard: VESTEL 17MB171 Chassis: VES315WNGB - 2D - N52
The TV was stuck on the logo and I couldn't access the update menu.
I couldn't find the firmware for the Hitachi 32HAE2351 and updated it with the Toshiba 32WA2063DG - Vestel 17MB171 firmware.
The image result was good, but the image is inverted.
The image rotation/mirror function doesn't exist in the Menu Server. I can't correct the image.
