If anyone else can give me more input on my set it would be appreciated.

Re: Samsung LN52B750U1F colored vertical lines issue

Since the lines affect all pattern generators (regardless of whether they appear on individual patterns) I would say the T-con is at fault. I'm not absolutely certain, but I believe the beforeDDR and afterDDR tests are on the T-con only whereas the remaining pattern is main board only. So if the lines disappeared on the t-con patterns but not the main board pattern this would be a main board fault. Otherwise, it is probably a T-con fault.

It is weird that the lines are on the very first pattern and not on the rest of the AFTER_DDR patterns. So since no lines on the green, blue, and red test patterns does that mean Tcon is bad? I am attaching the sequence of pics for the Before_DDR here as well to check out.

It could be the lines aren't visible on those patterns. Can you try hooking the TV up to a PC and using software like Microsoft Paint to make the screen different colours? I have had faults that only occur in the "midrange" of colours and high saturation would hide them, among other faults.

I will hook up a laptop to the TV when I get a chance and see what colors look like with MS Paint. I also ran the BFE test pattern which I think is the main board. I'm attaching a few of the pics for those as well. The first few patterns show no sign of lines, but in the middle of the cycle 7-8 patterns show the lines (last 2 pics).

The gradient image shows what I mean perfectly, the brighter colours are hiding the fault. The lines are still there, just less visible.

Here are the pics with the laptop connected to TV in MS Paint and various colors. Please advise. Thanks.

I have attached the laptop pics in my previous post as well. So what would the conclusion here be now after taking into account the test patterns and computer pics as well. Bad Tcon board most likely?

It is hard to be sure. I would say the T-con board is the most likely fault. If I were a betting man I would say 9/10 chance the T-con is causing this.

You could try a quick fix: heat up the T-con in an oven at 200degC for about 3-4 minutes. This is not a permanent fix, but if the fault goes away you know you can order a new one. Do not heat for longer than 4 minutes.

I ordered a refurbished Tcon and installed it tonight, but now I get no on screen details for inputs or menus. Screen is all black now and no menu will display at all. I think I got a bad Tcon board. Have to search for another Tcon board to see if it is in fact the Tcon is bad.

Do you think this refurbished Tcon board I got is no good since it gives no picture or menu, or input messages on the screen?

If you had picture before changing tcon and now nopicture, then either your broke or damaged a cable installing. Or the new tc board is bad. Unless you ordered the wrong one? Did you order by model of tv or part number of tcon? Part number of tcon is way more important than model of tv. I have seen tvs have several different tcons in them with the same model.

If you mean the LVDS cable it works fine because when I put in my original Tcon board it works fine (just have those vertical lines, but have picture and sound, etc.).

I ordered based on the Tcon part# and matching the 5-digit numbers/letters that is suppose to present on the sticker on the board. My Tcon# is J2772EXXXXXX and we are suppose to use the 4 numbers after the first letter and letter after that. So I ordered the part# LJ94-02772E based on what I had on the board. I think that is the correct part. Could be a defective part since it was seller refurbished. Will try to get a board from another vendor and see if that makes a difference.

Yes - you can try checking the fuse but it is probably a defective board. All too common with used parts, as they are not tested.

You are probably right. I inquired about returning the board and they told me to keep board and money will be refunded. So I am assuming they probably had some idea of it not working and don't want the board back either.

Update: I ordered an new Tcon from a different vendor and just finished it installing it. When I turned on the TV there were no lines anymore. Picture is perfect once again. I guess the issue was the Tcon had gone bad. Thank you very much for all your help. I learned alot from this experience (which was my first time troubleshooting a TV).
