Picked up a 50" LG 50PY3DF made in Nov 2007 for free at a garage sale (she was glad to see it go!). It had 6 blown caps. Replaced those and it works but, about 80% of the picture is darker than the edges. Any color shows as a few shades darker. Also getting a few vertical red lines. They run from the bottom up. About 6". They mainly show up on blue background. Not on green or black. See pics. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

Re: Odd color pattern on LG 50" Plasma
The colour pattern is burn in due to watching too much 4:3 content on a 16:9 plasma display (these early panels burned in early too.)
The lines are also a panel failure due to address driver failure.
Not bad for free, but neither will be fixable I'm afraid. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Odd color pattern on LG 50" Plasma
Thanks for the fast reply. It's not terrible to watch since I'm not a real "videophile" (is that a word?) and I like telling people about my $6 TV. Will probably sell it if the lines get worse. I really appreciate the sage advice I get on this forum.Comment

by Raulnngood morning! I have a problem with this Sony. The image has a pattern of black horizontal lines, I attach a photo of the lines. The power supply is external and emits a sound. I don't think it's because of that. Let's see if someone can help me.3 Photos

by viking509I recently replaced the led backlights with LB65041 LED Backlight Strips and after putting it back together the backlights work but there are only colored vertical lines only in the center of the tv. I can see the Netflix logo (jumbled) after a minute or less the screen went dark. When I turned it on again the lines were back. Then I replaced the t-con board but the same vertical lines in the picture. My question is what is my next step? Could it be a source tab bond issue? A buffer board issue? Could I have loosened a connection to the panel when replacing the backlights? Should I replace the...

by xNOTxHello 👋 I have a tv with these red lines. I've tried cleaning and re-seating the ribbon cables but no luck! Tried all 4 on the LJ92-01485 board and on the bottom of the panel. Do you guys think it's the board?|

by SysengThis sums up discussion related to Lenovo P14s Gen5 in this thread. Credits go to Sbaro and especially Maxpower3. The locked dump is attached.
The device is based on NM-F871 motherboard with Nuvoton NPCK397 series controller. The motherboard also contains three BIOS chips: two different Winbond chips for main BIOS and external EC flash, and also a Gigadevice chip which purpose I do not know. The password information is contained directly in controller and thus can be manipulated by reprogramming it, so reprogramming BIOS chips is technically not required, however you may wish to make...-
