good morning! I have a problem with this Sony. The image has a pattern of black horizontal lines, I attach a photo of the lines. The power supply is external and emits a sound. I don't think it's because of that. Let's see if someone can help me.

Don't think the power supply should be noisy, did you check the dc output of it with a multimeter, just put one probe inside and the other on the outside. -
Looks like a screen data line issue, locate the 8 data lines on the screen driver boards, and using cellotape isolate them, see if that cures the problem, works on most screens in various TVsComment

The power supply cannot produce 4.8v, if it produced such a low voltage, the TV would not turn on at all, which means you are not measuring correctly or the multimeter is not working.

The power supply is also not suppose to make any noise, so I wouldn't be so quick to rule it out. Make sure you are testing in dc mode, maybe test another power supply from something else and see what voltage you get.Last edited by nomoresonys; 12-12-2023, 12:45 AM.Comment

I update. I have cleaned the flex at both ends. It hasn't worked. In fact, yellow lines now appeared, some wider than others, until suddenly there was no image left.
Of course, I did a correct manipulation, everything turned off.
But I discovered something. The noise was not from the power supply, it came from the area of the controller boards, the area where the tcon is integrated. When the lines were no longer visible, and there was no image, the noise disappeared.
Could it be a coil in that area in poor condition that is causing the problem? Or could it be some tcon chip?

hello! could you help me? I don't see the control values for tcon, vgh and vdd. vgl yes I have seen it and it is correct. I don't know if Sony calls them by another name. The TV has TVon integrated into the panel controllers, with a single flex. It is difficult to do panel tests. Let's see if someone can help me continue. Thanks in advance

update! I think it's a Tcon problem. The problem is that the tcon is integrated. I would say that the problem is in the DC DC converter circuit. Also, when I connect the TV the integrated DC DC converter gets hot. How can I know if it is the DC DC converter or another element? I have not detected short circuits in nearby capacitors. Let's see if someone can help me diagnose the DC DC converter. I cannot replace the tcon because it is attached to the panel. thank youComment

5.5 year old 85 inch Sony Bravia X950G started showing gray horizontal lines across the bottom of the screen and the picture shifts slightly vertically when it happens. The lines sometimes get bigger/smaller vertically and bounce back. See the video for the problem. It seems to be happening after it warms up after an hour or so. Happens regardless of source. Right now there's nothing but power cable connected and it's happening. Hi, I have a Sony XBR-65X750D that has horizontal lines at the bottom 6 inches of the screen. These lines appear to be every other line because the picture is still quite visible behind those lines. The lines appear all the time with a few other lines above and below the 6 inch level blinking on and off at about 2 second intervals. I'm not sure if this is a panel issue or power supply/main board problem. I did replace the T-Con board without any change in the problem. Any suggestions you might have would be greatly appreciated. All left and right refers to looking from rear of TV (or looking from front with TV upside down)- TV came with vertical bars and no image. Found faulty TVS on left buffer board. Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.
- Disconnecting left and right buffer board potentially reveals problems on both sides with different signals (unless this T-Con require jumper like Samsung FB_TRDY1&3) Fault

I have a Sony Smart TV XBR65X900H that started to have horizontal lines on the right side of the screen (see attached picture). When I played video on Youtube green horizontal line at regular intervals(1/4") across the screen.
I replaced the T-Con board but the lines are still there.
I believe this issue is from the Main Board. Before I replace the Main board, I wanted to seek advise if this is the problem from the Main board or something else?

I got this tv from friend complaint is ghosting or horizontal lines on image.
