Samsung UN65F6300 won't power on (sometimes)

I have a Samsung 65" LED smart TV, it never resets, or just powers off. Some days it just won't come on. There is a little red light on the bottom of the TV, if it's on ... The TV will power up like normal, if it's not the light does nothing or it blinks when I push the power button. Sometimes after I've tried to turn it on.... It will pop up 5 mins later. But once the TV is warm it seems to power on/off easy

I've taken the power board out (BN44-00614a) my version has the tall capacitors laying on their side, all the caps look normal and Samsung has went with 25v 390uf (x3) and 25v 590uf (X1) over all the older ones that seemed to have the 10v caps. I ordered those new caps but then took those 4 out and tested them, they were still good so I put them back in the board.

I've read were a few other people have had this same issue

The caps I pulled out and checked with a meter then put them back in are in the lower right corner of this board around the longest heat sink that's aluminum in color .

I am not convinced that it is the PSU doing this. Load up some hi res pictures from the main board like described here: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=39740
First what you can do is to measure the PSon voltage on the PSU when you turn on the TV. See what happens to it when the TV doesn't want to turn on.

My TV has no buttons and only 2 boards in it. I think the other ones has all the brains on it. I tried to attach the photo of the power board to this post in a thumbnail

It has also T-CON board and the jog/IR board.
The question is what are the DCV readings and the Voltages of the signals are at the connector of the power supply board that goes to the main board, if the backlights will come on if the that cable between the main board and the power supply board is disconnected.

If you look at the board, there are charts to tell you what the pins of the the connectors are.
So what happen if you do not have the cable between the power supply and the main board disconnected? Do you get the backlights when the TV is plugged into the AC outlet?

Well ... I spent about 30 mins trying to get it to come on. Red light would only flicker when I pushed the power button. I took it off the wall and put the mount on it. I realized this thing on the back wasn't a speaker (power/toggle). I pushed the power once I had it on my counter.... The red light flashed 5 times... Then powered on and then it's back to working.

Sorry for the photo being upside down, idk how I did that

                  With the TV working

On the ribbon going to the video card ... Using the 3rd one down as ground... Top 2 i get ~13VDC and the bottom 2 I get ~5VDC with the TV on, I don't get anything with the TV off

On the hot side of the board there is a transformer that says 94v-0 With the TV on the meter is just going all over the place

Should i unplug the plug going to the video and still see if the backlights come on?

Re: Samsung UN65F6300 won't power on (sometimes)

The connector CNM803 of the power supply board that goes to the main board is the one we are looking for the control signal form the main board.
It is pin 12 A5V (STBY Voltage which should be present at ALL times as long as the TV is plugged into an AC outlet) and pin 14 which you cannot access from the top side of the board either, the connector is arranged as odd and even row, you can see odd pin 1 ~13 form the top of the board but the even pins 2~14 you will need to get small probe to get to pin 12 and 14 to see if it is present when it will not power on.
                    PS-ON when <1VDC = OFF, >2VDC = ON.

"On the hot side of the board there is a transformer that says 94v-0" that is not the Voltage rating, it is the UL Flammability rating of the PCB.
Do not make any measurement in the primary deadly side unless you know what you are doing.
Basically we are trying to find out what is missing when the TV is not working.

You measure between pin 12 (A5V) and GND pin for the standby Voltage, and then Pin 14 (ps-on) and GND pin for the PS-ON signal. Do not measure between pin 12 AND pin 14, that is not the correct measurement.
I think you need to learn basic of how the TV works first and how to make Voltage measurement otherwise the data you provide will not be valid which will lead to wrong diagnostic.

                          I have 0.25vdc between 14-Gnd when off and 5v 12-grn when on.

Idk if this has anything to do with it but I also have a Vizio P-series TV, I wanted to watch a movie so I've hooked up my OTT MXQ TV box (which I've had for about a week) to the Vizio and it shows "no signal".... Same hdmi cable to a blueray works. On the Samsung I had it routed thru a Sony a/v reciever that has HDMI pass-thru. So I thought I would test the OTT box straight into the Samsung ... I wouldn't power on, I unplugged the hdmi and the red light flashed 5 times and the TV came on... I plug the hdmi cord and it does show the screen from the OTT. The specs on the HDMI on the OTT says "HDMI 1.4b with cec"

Ok... While hooked up to the hdmi..OTT box on TV works on/off/on/off

Still hooked up OTT box ----POWER OFF.... Turn TV off, red light stays off and only flickers when i try to power on. Grd-pin 14 has 3v in this status. I unplug HDMI, push power, 5 red flashes and TV is back to normal.

I did this 4 times to simulate, each time it locks the TV up. Any explanations or fixes?

Pin 12 (A5V) should be there ALL the time, it should never go off period unless you unplug the TV.
PIN 14 is the PS-ON COMMAND PIN that is generated by the main board when power switch is activated, when it is <1V = TV OFF, >2VDC = TV ON, as long as this is > 2VDC the TV should stay on. If you notice that the TV is turning on and off then you should see this pin 14 Voltage going up and down in sync with TV cycling ON and OFF.
I really do not understand your explanation on the HDMI problem.

I think the cec part of the HDMI from the OTT box is telling my TV to turn-off . The TV isn't turning all the way off, the red light flickers when the TV is on when I press any button on the remote. Samsung's CEC is called anynet under menu--system-- anynet --- off. I turned mine off but still anytime I turn the OTT box off, (even if I turn it back on) the TV backlight is off but pin 14 still has 3v on it until I unplug the HDMI cord... Then pin 14 drops straight to .25v

Pin 14 I'm getting .25v off and 3.32v consistatly when on (with no HDMI cable attached)

On the TV , HDMI 1 is in yellow and says "STB". I plugged the OTT into HDMI 2 which says (ARC). Works normal

The STB input on the smart TV is supposed to become interactive with all the "set top boxes" , even supposed to pop up in the smart hub and transfer the guide onto the TV's guide and use the TV remote and not us the IR for the box at all. Maybe a little too smart or confused having an android box on there

I don't know which one is my firmware and which one is my software... But it's showing 2210 and "T-MST12AKUC-2210.1" as the version

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                                          Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

                                          Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

                                          Hi

Picked up another TV. Samsung UN43NU6950FXZA. No power and no standBy led on. Removed back cover and:
                                          Main fuse = OK
Back light LED = OK. Power them with aux power source
                                          LED output = OK 156V
I do get 12 V DC out of the power supply going to the digital section but no 5V or 3.3V. PS_on voltage is only 1.8V. I have looked everywhere on the PCB , I could not find i reference for 5V output.
Also removed connections to panel, speakers and remote but no luck. One strange thing is that even with the LED power supply working, backlight LED do not turn on...

Hi everyone and thanks in advance for any help I might get here

My Samsung TV is about 4 years old. The exact model number is UE75MU7009TXZG.
About half a year ago I started seeing occasional green frames pop up while watching movies. I mean literally green frames. Not the image turning green, but the entire screen turning green for a split second. This happened maybe once or twice during a 2 hour movie. So no big deal, but clearly something was not quite right.

Since a few days, the TV won't turn...
