Replace SMT LEDs on your backlights!!!!

I have seen this problem a lot so i made a video on how to replace the burned/shorted LEDs from your backlights.

Please let me know if this worked for you!

      Useful trick!

This will work for certain types of strip which use a metal core PCB as a heatsink and for LEDs which have pads under the device. The thermal pad on the bottom of the LED is likely to cause problems with hot air removal. If the LED did not have a thermal pad it should be easier to remove with hot air.

A high power soldering iron, at least 60 watts, will be useful if attempting to remove these. It's probably not as critical that it is temperature regulated provided you don't burn the PCB itself.

I would recommend a little practice with a old back-light before trying on a fixable unit

from my experance i don't see the sinked LEDs on normal PCB as much as on the ALU strips

i do have a nicer hakko head unit for my iron

Thanks for all the feedback guys.
