Vizio xvt553sv reporting m470nv main board

    Hi,

My Vizio xvt553sv recently stopped working after a power surge. After asking for help in this forum, I found that the mainboard needs replacement. I bought a mainboard with the exact matching number 3655-0122-0150 which the seller specified is for Vizio XVT553SV.

However, after plugging in the mainboard the TV I am noticing several issues.

    1. It does not boot up in one go. First it boots up for a long time then turns itself off and turns back on. And after the second boot up the TV stays on. The whole cycle takes a long time and happens everytime I turn on the TV.

    2. The TV is unable to detect my bluetooth remote. I tried pressing the record button + green button, but it could not discover the remote. I also tried the "hold down the Q, P, and Spacebar" thing, still nothing.

    3. The wifi does not scan anything.

    4. While the board has 4 hdmi and 1 side hdmi ports, the OSD when pressing "input" only shows 3 hdmi and 1 side hdmi

    5. When I check the system info in help, I noticed something strange. The model on the mainboard reports itself as m470nv.

How is that possible? The mainboard does have 5 hdmis and the number is correct on the mainboard for what it should be for xvt553sv. Did the ebay seller somehow flash the wrong firmware on the board or change some chip?

    Please help!

Thank you for the prompt reply @budm. So there is nothing that I can do? Flash a new firmware or something?

sound like a factory programming error, you can confirm this by removing the metal shield on the main board to look to the flash memory chip. Vizio mark these flash memory chip with a color marker like white, blue or red.

in your case just return the board back to the seller.

        and check this

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
          by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

          Hi.

picked up another TV. This time is a Vizio M65-C1. TV does not turn on. I had repaired another 60 inch vizio , Bad main board.
When power button is pressed, the Power led indicator on the bottom right, turns for a few seconds and then it fades away. No backlight or Vizio logo on screen. Removed back cover and repeated test.
This is the TV This TV is a little different from the Samsung I have worked on. Power supply is on the Left side, Main Bd is on the right side, T-CON , not in the picture is on the bottom. I am assuming that the boards in the middle are the LED...

Vizio M43-C1 - How closely do I need to match the mainboard number?
          by Devonavar
I have a Vizio M43-C1 stuck in a reboot loop with no backlight.

I've tested all the voltage rails coming out of the power supply and they are "normal" for this model (PS_ON & DIM go high when turned on, BL_ON & 3D_ON are close to zero due to backlight power flowing through the mainboard, 5VSB is 5V, and 12V is 19V, which is apparently normal for this board).

Basically, I get similar results to Garry in this post: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=80346

So, I've ruled out the PSU for now.

          The reboot loop...
