    Insignia NS-50L240A13 Backlight shuts off

Hi all, this is my first time posting to any type of forum, but I figured I would give this a try because I have seen a lot of good Q&A on this site. My problem is with a 2012 Insignia LCD TV model NS-50L240A13. When powered on, the display flashes the "Please wait" screen for about 3 seconds and then the backlight goes out. There is still sound and a picture on the screen, but no backlight.
This TV only has 2 replaceable boards, PSB and Main. When measuring the Voltage to the BON pin (which I assume means backlight ON), It is constant at 4.6V from the time the TV is turned on and the backlight briefly comes on until the set is powered off. Does anyone know if this is the correct voltage or where I could find a service manual? I replaced PSB with no difference and am hesitant on spending $100 on another main.
I just purchased this TV in this condition, so I am not 100% sure of the history but the guy who sold it to me said it has approximately 100 hours on it and it sat unused at his office for months and when he brought it home he wasn't able to get it to work. Thanks for any advice!!

How about the pcitures of the whole back side of the TV?
Pictures of the whole board that are not cut out?
BTW, POST #3 does not work.
There must be another LED driver board some where. I cannot tell the setup unless we can see the whole backside of the TV.

Here are the pictures that didn't upload before. The only two replaceable boards are the ones in the link you posted

It looks like the sub LED driver board may be inside the LCD panel.
Can you give us the LCD panel model number? you can see the stickers on on the panel.

Thanks for the help so far, I figure I might as well tear down further to check the bulbs. Any tips for finding a bad one? I was thinking maybe something happened when he was bringing it home from his office. If there is a bad one are they worth the trouble trying to find a replacement? I have lots of other bulbs from scrapped TVs, but probably not an exact replacement.

                      It uses LEDs for backlights.

I finally got around to taking the TV apart further to look at the backlight. It does use CCFL bulbs for the backlight and I found one was broken. Anyone have a suggestion on where I could get a replacement? It is about 42" long. Thank for the help

Can we see the pictures of the CCFL assembly? That ribbon cable going into the panel sure does not look like they are made for high Voltage.

That is why those wires are not High Voltage type wires.

good news bad news...it was 2 bad ccfl tubes so i just used a wire to jumper it out and then backlights worked..but i broke lcd panel when i reassembled....initially i reassembled and was ok but i could see the lcd panel was not aligned properly so i reluctantly decided to take apart again to realign and yes i cracked the screen when i tiightened the screws and something wasnt lined up properly and screen cracked....i hate dealing with lcd panels..i have done this about 4 times..fixing tv then breaking lcd panel whne putting back together

this tv is throwing me for a loop. do samsung tvs no longer have the backlight self test feature built into the power supply?
i tested the backlight with my LED tester and it lights up both strips. one of them reads 100v and the other reads 63.7v.
unplugged mainboard from power supply but left backlight plugged in, and then plugged psu wall power in. expected to see backlights light up but see nothing.
according to how ive diagnosed in the past, this would almost always be a bad power supply. replacement power supply was cheap like 20$ from ebay. but still i get not even...

Eventually discovered a burn mark near lower corner of LCD. Here is a summary
                                        • Backlight on, no image
                                        • Disconnect right buffer board (view from front), left side display comes on
                                        • Masked off pin 7+8 (both ~12,5v on both left and right buffer board) from t-con to right buffer board (view from front) display works but have some lines
                                        • Buffer board is pretty simple
Removed the front bezel to examine edge of the glass. Found burn mark on lower right (view from front). Plastic bezel covering the burn mark region shows heat signature on the inside surface facing the LCD panel. Last 2 pics. Bright...

                                        Insignia NS-32L430A11 backlight issue
                                        by arnard
I have a weird backlight issue on the above Insignia Plasma that I am coming up empty on researching.

The display is darker on the left than on the right side of the screen. It uses 4 U shaped plasma tubes. I have had it apart deep enough to tell you that the tubes are bright as they should be at the electrode ends but dim as they get to and go around the bend.

Since it is all 4 tubes it seems like it would be an inverter/backlight board but obviously can't be a blown up component as it does still somewhat work. I'm thinking low voltage but no idea where to go beyond...

Guide me through repairing a Dell p2210f LCD ccfl backlight monitor
                                        by DanPoka
I bought this p2210f dell monitor to fix. Schematic is the same as p2210.
Behaviour is that monitors comes on but then backlight switches off almost instantly. If I look with flashlight I can still find the "No signal message". So definitely a backlight issue. Trying to advance the issue I proved that the protection circuit is switching off the backlight by shorting out C3 and resistor to disable the INL chip then re enable by removing the short.
This is where it gets interesting. When I disassembled the monitor to solder leads on c3 capacitor I noticed the backlight flickered...

                                        No Backlight Macbook A1990 820-01041
                                        by Comp_Pro
                                        Hello all,

Am trying to figure out this backlight issue with this A1990 Macbook Pro.

                                        Tests performed:

There is no backlight even with a good screen.
Backlight IC is receiving the correct support voltages.
                                        Fuse F8400 ok
                                        Current sense resistor R8400 ok
Backlight IC is receiving 3.3V on enable pin.
Backlight IC receiving voltage from PPBUS_G3H, aprox 12.5V.
Backlight IC receiving 5V from PP5V_G3S
Backlight IC BKLT_SCL and BKLT_SDA both measure 0.545V diode mode to ground
                                        I2C_BKLT_SCL and I2C_BKLT_SDA both measure...
