    Vizio E420-A0 with bad EEPROM

TV won't turn on power on with remote or buttons (LED indicator remains same color). The PS-ON stuck high, BL-ON stays LOW.
Got the replacement EEPROM from SJ through AMAZON due to free shipping.

Re: Vizio E420-A0 with bad EEPROM

did the EEPROM fix the problem?

I was working on an E320-A0 that turn on but the back-light wasn't turning on. I replace fuse, two FETS and a couple of caps for the LED driver circuit and then I was half way there.

NOW I got back-light but no picture on the LCD screen. had to replace an IC by TI which control the +12volts that was needed for the LCD screen. TV is now working

We need a resource here with eeprom dumps, at least those with high failure rates.

What is the Exact model number and serial number of your TV?
E420-A0 is not the same as E420i-A0 (Smart TV).

You should start a new thread and upload good clear pictures of the boards and the whole backside of the TV showing all the boards.

Re: Vizio E420-A0 with bad EEPROM

I will start a threat tonight as I take pictures, my TV doesnt turn on, when you turn the tv on the power light lights up and then dims away and never turns on, I switched the power supply thinking that was the problem but the TV didnt turn on at all still, that is how I stared reading more and found out that eeprom gives a variety of problems from not turning on to no video to no sound, so I ordered the piece to check if that fixes the problem thinking that the eeprom would be labeled as the others, but unfortunately I dont know where is the eeprom that i have to change and have not been able to find information on how its labeled or where is located.

                    Thanks

Does anyone have a copy of the eprom image? I've got one that has good standby voltage, but power button does nothing.

My board is a 3642-1742-0150. Same as the board at the start of the thread.

                        Thanks.

                          Hi everyone

Iยดm trying to repair a TV Vizio E320-A0 that I found in the street

The symptoms are it doesn't respond with remote or buttons, the LED indicator is always off and also there is no image on the TV.

The power supply board works fine (I probed the terminals with my multimeter) but in the main board the EEPROM doesn't works correctly because the voltage on the pins doesn't match with the parameters of the datasheet.

So, Iยดm going to replace the EEPROM with a new one, but the problem is that my programmer (CH341a)...

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                          Assuming...

                          Hi everyone,

I was trying to repair this Vizio 32 inch and have isolated it to the EEPROM. The symptoms are it does not respond to the power button and so no backlights or any indication that the button was even pressed. Applying freeze spray to the EEPROM while the set is unplugged, and then plugging it in and all is well.

Now I know I can buy pre-programmed EEPROMS for $15.00 or so, but I wanted to do this myself. So, the original EEPROM is Winbond 25Q64FSIG. I ordered this but received a 25Q64JSIG, which has slightly different timing characteristics. Well, being hopeful...
