Samsung UN40D5500RF; Power On, Backlight On, but no picture

    Hi,

I had an Samsung 2011 model; UN40D5500RF get an problem.

    The TV power on,
    The Backlight Goes On,
    Black Screen, no picture;
No clicking relay listeting, totally open but don't know if an relay is normally clicking when power on.

Power board seem's to work pretty well. Fuses OK.

Did someone know what is the problem? It's the second model i had which does exactly the same problem. My friend would ask for help so made research on it.

    Thanks a lot !

Check both sides of the tcon pico-fuse.

Do you get 12v either side?

Black probe chassis ground, red probe touch either side of fuse to confirm 12v is present.

Hi Can you highlight the part or give the # to must be sure.

      Did it's the 125V 3A fuse?

I will check that tomorrow, i will need to unassembly again. I will let you know tomorrow the answer.

          Hi;

Pico Fuse show 12.80 volts input; and 520 Mv on exit.

I bypass the junction of the fuse, and im getting verticales multicolors lines all the screen. No sound, no menu.

Ok so you have 12v going into the fuse and only 0.5v going into the tcon.

You have an open fuse, sometimes you can get lucky and replacing the fuse will fix the board as they sometimes fail by themselves. Other times it's blown for a reason and there's a s/c on the tcon.

Do not just put a piece of wire over the fuse or you may damage the panel.

I use an alligator clip (to clip the fuse like a wire jonction) after that to double test if the screen are open.

It's smells fumed; the screen show vertical lines all over the pc.

You may have damaged your panel.

That's why I said don't jump the fuse.

Eitherway your tcon is faulty, replacing it might still fix the TV. Fingers crossed it didn't damage the panel.

Or the panel is bad (shorted TFT ICs drivers) that took out the fuse.

Or the T-con has an onboard fault, like a shorted highside FET in a buck converter. Fuse blew, panel saved normally. When fuse is jumped, full PSU short circuit current went through it, and fried panel.

Just an example - NEVER JUMP A FUSE!
I can't believe how many people do this!

Samsung UN60EH6000F Black Screen, Backlight and Sound Good. Power Cycle Returns Picture
                        by Mgiffune
I have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.

I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
                        by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                        Assuming...

Samsung Odyssey G9 (c49g95tssr) no picture or backlight. Power LED shows
                        by grimreaper420
                        hey guys,

i bought 2 samsung odyssey g9's for a decent price. they both have the exact same fault. when plugged into a power source, the blue led powerlight shows, but when turned on there is no picture, no backlight, no menu, nothing. when plugged into a laptop the laptop recognises the monitor, but keeps disconnecting and reconnecting.

dont have any schematics or diagrams unfortunately. any ideas?

                        thanks

                        by TR103
                        Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
                        - sound and backlight, but no picture
                        - when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
                        - it keeps rebooting
                        - without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
                        - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
                        - when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.

                        - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel and with a jumpered...
