    Technika LCD42-910 Buzzing PSU

    Hi Guys,

Recently stripped down a LCD42-910 that is making a buzzing noise.
Straight away saw 3/4 caps that were bulging - One with a hole! Result, or so I thought.

Swapped them out, and still have the noise.

    Anybody any ideas?

Im assuming its to do with those diodes up the top, but have no idea how to test them, and they show values in BOTH directions :S

Take one leg of the diode out of circuit and measure again, and im thinking the buzzing noise is coming from the picture i have uploaded ?

Yes from that area. Any ideas?

I will pull the diodes out and test.

Top left circled area ish. Could also be coming from the 3 components under the heatsink in the middle at top

          Anybody else any bright ideas?

TV works perfect, just this very faint humming noise gets annoying when you 'hear' it because once you have heard it, you cannot unheard it. lol

Checked and everything seems fine - Shame about the buzzing still though

These power supplies do hum because of the poor feed back and oscillation trust me you think thats bad wait till you hear a 17pw25-4 that sounds like a fucking car on a bad day they are the worst, its probably fine yes it might hum but just take your mind off it and dont obsess over it thats when you will notice it. My plasma buzzes and I used to obsess over it but just ignore it recap it fully with good caps for safety you never said but does the set work ?

wax or epoxy covering the coils may help.

                  Yeah set works fine.

                  Will epoxy damage anything?

Epoxy will be fine on the transformers will just muff out the buzzing noise as they normally are the cause.

What Zener Diodes on a Linear Power Supply
                      by caspian
                      Dear members,

I have a linear variable power supply with unknown brand name that I used for voltage injection.
Then it failed. I discovered that its transistors (Q1 and Q2) are shorted.
In addition, I discovered that its zener diodes are defective.
I can replace the burned transistors.
But I do not know the model of the zener diodes. the model number is not marked on the zener diodes.
Therefore, I cannot replace the zener diodes.
I do not want to test the zener diodes in a test circuit to discover their model or value.
                      no schematics are available...

                      HP1955L Buzzing noise & interference
                      by stvhop
Hello, This is my first post so please forgive me if I miss out some vital info.
I have a problem with my HP1955L monitor from 2005.
The first thing to say is that it is still basically working, ie the picture is fine.
However it makes an electrical buzzing sound. I know all monitors make some some of hum, but this is louder and more of a buzz.
The volume of the noise seems to be dependent on how hard the monitor is working; switched on with a blank screen -> no sound; small dialog (like OSD only) -> minor buzzing; full screen picture -> loud buzzing.
                      ...

Adding Bluetooth module to Woofer buzzing noise
                      by Orion Bardier Skylar
Hi, I got this Woofer,Name TBT, which damaged its Radio module, then was added a Bluetooth module from the market(history from client). Then recently was brought to me with very low sound and heating problem. I changed subwoofer Speaker which had impedance of 1.2 instead of 4ohms rms and the bass ic KA2206B. Sound is back but buzzing and hissing sound present even when muted. How can I get rid of it?

Removing electrical noise introduced by fan
                      by tony359
                      Hi all,

I am working on a sound processor, it tends to overheat so I fitted a fan inside. The fan is connected to the +15V of the PSU via a DC-DC converter based on the LM2596 to reduce the voltage to around 10.5V.

Unfortunately the analogue circuitry is picking up the noise from the fan in two ways:
                      1. The fan is close to the analogue section, the motor itself gets into the outputs so I'll have to move it somewhere else
                      2. Even with the fan running outside of the case, there is still some noise which is clearly going back to the processor via power line....

Onkyo TX-SR805 noise in one channel
                      by MegaZAC
Surprisingly enough, this receiver doesn't have the DSP chip issue. The HDMI board does not get hot, and sound over HDMI works fine.

Regardless of the input, the right channel has noise that is clearly noticeable even on average volume level. The only cases when there's no noise is when VCR input is selected (some tracks on the board are damaged, maybe that's why), or if HDMI input is selected but nothing plugged into it. In all other cases, even when no input is connected I still have the noise.

There's some logic behind it. As soon as I select an input I get only left...
