    Sony KDL50EX645

Been running this set for a few days since i got the repaired smps back from Sony Serv Center. Was working perfectly. Dead totally. No green LED, No Red LED. Nothing. Not getting PS-ON 3.3 volts from main board. Disc main board and jump pins 1-3 on smps. 12 and 24 volt rails come up.Have 3.3 volts standby on pins 1 and 2. Main board Digital audio port glowing red. I cannot find a service manual for this set anywhere.
It did have access to internet while it was running.

I see two of them that look identical. They do not read the same when tested with meter.

Put a blob of solder(join all of them), on the legs and heat them up all at once. Go back an forth on the tab and legs.

Are they identical? Exact same part number? Check they are not being used as adjustable regulators.

            Photos would help!

Before taking them out you should at least take the DCV readings of all 3 pins with ref to the chassis GND first, and also provide the P/N as printed on the bodies.

                      Sony xbr-65x900c main board issues?
                      by jb_Bak
Hey guys great forum glad to have found it. I bought a Sony XBR 65X900C cheaply because it didn't work. No signs of life at all not even a light/led. All I hear is a brief high voltage sound when I throw the power to it.

Didn't see any obvious signs of damage so right away started checking voltages. This is what I see:
Power Board Connector that goes to Main board
                      CN6401
                      Pin 01 NC
                      Pin 02 NC
                      Pin 03 "BL_ON": 0V
                      Pin 04 "N/C"
                      Pin 05 "STBY 3.3V": 3.5V
                      Pin 06 "GND": N/C
                      Pin 07 "AC_OFF"...

Sony RB2G Chassis KDL-55W815B MAIN BOARD 2 Blink Error issue resolved! Happy days :)
                      by cheeky2
For anyone interested just repaired this Sony Main board TV that had a 2 blink error code, the chassis is a RB2G which is common to quite a few different Sony models. The Ceramic 10uF 25V X7R 1206 capacitor C9114 was shorted which took the smd 2A 0603 fuse out F9101. This was powering the Buck converter TPS54332 which caused no 5V output from it.
See the attached picture of the locations of both components. I also attach the best service manual I found for this board for anyone else in a similar position of trying to repair this main board. It's not specific to the TV model however it gives...

                      Hello,

I have SONY KD-55AF9. Mainboard MAIN-BM3-1-983-356-11 with defekt EMMC.
I wanted to buy new EMMC and Flash the firmaware on it. Does anyone have the firmware for this TV. I would be really grateful.

I found one chat about firmware on ************** forum but i cannot read the comments.

Is it possible to upgrade from a Vestel 17MB97 main board to a 17MB110 Main board?
                      by cheeky2
I suppose the real question is whether the existing pinouts from ether a 17IPS71 psu are cross compatible with a 17IPS12 psu? If they are then the exchange of the main boards should have no issues providing the screen is compatible with both main boards. Obviously you can change the screen configurations easily enough (providing you have the correct files) for the main board. Why may you ask would I do this? Well a lot of the smart features are no longer working on a Hitachi 48HBT62U main board I wish to give it a new lease of life!
Obviously the same LVDS connector for the screen connection...

Sceptre U550CV-UMR 4K LED, Bad Caps on Main Power Board?
                      by Dani_2024
Hi and thanks in advance for any input you might provide!
I have a Sceptre U550CV-UMRD8POTV83BB 4K LED (this is a dumb tv) that I bought new in August 2021, so It's just completed 3 years.
Main power board model: TP.MS3683.PC821 T-Con board: N4TP546UHDPU2L_BO

Last Sunday I was watching a dvd and fell asleep for about half hour, when I awoke the tv screen was black and couldn't get the dvd menu to show, so I changed the input to antenna and had sound but no picture, turned it off. I then got online and found this great site! ....read many troubleshooting tips and this...
