    Vizio XVT473SV

I just picked up a Vizio XVT473SV that's in great condition but it won't power on past the Vizio logo. when i press the power button it powers up to the logo for like 90 seconds then powers off and blinks 87 times then repeats... I'm assuming it's firmware related? is there a way to repair this? any thoughts would be appreciated..

    Re: Vizio XVT473SV

OK so i found the main board for the XVT553SV that i thought was bad and installed it in the 47" and now it's working great..

The next issue is where can i get the firmware for the 47" and how can i flash it to the main board.
OR is there a way to dump the firmware from the 55" and upload it to the 47" main board.

there is a repair service offered for the main boards on ebay, but I'm not sure if they deal with issues with the firmware tho..

    any thoughts?

Vizio D32f-E1 Powers on, has backlight, won't boot/no logo, no menu or video
      by JaquesPratt
I have a Vizio D32f-E1 LCD TV that does NOT have a TCON board.

This TV recently went through some 'death throes' and now won't boot. The first problem that began to manifest was while watching tv, the screen would 'freeze', and the image would dim over a few seconds until it was very dark. HOWEVER, the audio of the show would continue as normal. I could power off the TV for 5-20 seconds, power back on, and the video would be normal. This would occur 1-3 times when the TV was first started, and would not happen again after the TV was 'warmed up'. Not ideal, but this glitch was manageable....

Vizio M60-C3 powers on, perfect logo, turns off
      by ossroy
Vizio M60-C3 powers on, perfect logo, turns off. If you don't touch anything it will repeat this process by itself until it is unplugged. Not the "button board" since I disconnected the cables to the main board and the problem persisted. So I'm fairly positive something is going on with the main board, but want to know if there is a fix for this other than replacing the expensive mainboard, which may eventually have the same problem. Also, heat sink was hot as hell when this all started. Unplugged for a few days and same thing happens.

Vizio D50u-D1 Powers up no picture
      by csmith
I replaced the backlights all good. Two months later set was dead, had a shorted D9100, replaced all good again.
Now months later set powers up,backlights light ok,no picture. 12volts missing from fuse on tcon. 12VA on power
supply is 19 volts. Changed D9100 again, same, 12 volts measures 19. Am I looking at a power supply or mainboard
issue. Set will power up with remote but not power off....

Vizio E701i-A3 Vizio logo flashing then turns off
      by Super360
Ok so here's the story. I was watching tv one day when all of a sudden I heard a pop from the back of the tv set and rushed to unplug the set. By this time the tv already had smoke coming out the back. It was not storming or inclement weather that day to cause a power surge to the best of my abilities. When I opened the tv up, I found that the three capacitors on the psu (highlighted in red) were all bulging and looked they had exploded. I replaced all of them right away and when I went to start up the tv after the "fix" it started just showing the flashing vizio logo as soon as power...

      Vizio D50-F1 - Can't update Software / Firmware
      by jason123
Wondering if any of you have seen this before. I got this TV with lower half of the screen dim. Fixed the LED backlight issue - smooth

I noticed that the System update lists current firmware is V1.0.6 and is able to find on the Vizio server 2.60.23-1... it downloads fully.. but instead of restarting, it just goes back to the previous screen "NO SIGNAL - HDMI1"

I got the code and followed the update via flash drive - and it does exactly the same thing. Firmware is copied by the TV 100%, and then nothing - instead of restarting, it just goes back to the previous...
