    Panasonic TNPA4785 board

    Hey guys ,

Im repairing a Panasonic TX-P42U10E wich has a shorted buffer board.
I ordered 1 from flattvparts but that 1 was also short.

Ordered another 1 from ebay but it was defective on arrival , both buffer boards are missing the white connectors and 1 pad is gone .
Attached is not the actual board but the arrow shows the pad thats gone.
Can i still fix this board or do i need a new one? I cant see where the traces are leading to.

Can it be that the SC board shorts a new buffer board on first start up?

The connectors are par of the Sc board. it is indeed possible if you have a bad buffer that it damaged the sc.

No the SC board is fine. When i disconnect the buffer boards and use the jumper on the SC board the TV stays on.

Problem is that on MY buffer board the white connectors are gone. On the picture you see the white connector thats gone on my board. I have a connector wich i can use but one pad is missing. Im talking about the pad on the picture with the red arrow......

I need to know where the pad is going to so i can make jumper...... :/

you're in luck, pin 7 is not used

I would not recommend FlatTv, unreliable. Purchased sc/sd/su all shorted that's a couple of years ago

Hmm ok , lucky me but this is strange! Tested the board before i installed it and it had no shorts. Installed the board , turned on tv ....a small flash and 7 blinks again.
Took the buffer boards out , measured again and again SAME CHIPS are shorted......

          What am i doing wrong?

Have you seen this TV work? Could panel be shorted / cracked? Don't know to be honest?

                Re: Panasonic TNPA4785 board

Honestly, don't know. only suggestion would be run it with just the sd with jumper in place. remove the Su or fully disconnect including the 2 Vfg bolts and run it to see if bottom half works.
I've never done it, guide suggests it, not sure if it will do damage so at your risk.

may help prove sd and sc ok but still if the panel has internally failed in the upper part then this probably won't prove that part.

never been faced with this one except a tottlly shorted samsung panel that killed 2 buffers and made buzzing noises which I concluded shorted panel.

We do make mistakes and for that we can only apologise, but it doesn't mean that we are unreliable.

I remember your order and I again apologise for the problems you had.

I purchased a mainboard last week from Flattvparts.co.uk and it was working perfectly although i was curious if it would work or not. I think the only boards that are questionable are bufferboards.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                        Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Panasonic switching power supply daughter board has two 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors which I do not keep in stock

I did not have any 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors but one nice thing is that it has enough room for two capacitors in parallel a 22uf and a 4.7uf @ 50 volts 22 plus 4.7 equals 26.7uf which so very close to 27uf I will show some pictures of it sometime tomorrow

This is one of the shit est boards I seen in a very long time and it was the daughter board the traces just lifting off the board I had to use the capacitor leads to repair the the traces and the main board is not any better because I had to repair several traces for the daughter board to the main board
