Panasonic TC-P54VT25 Won't Turn On (Sometimes)

Howdy, folks. Hoping someone out there can shed some light on my problem, though I have a feeling I may know what the issue is.

I have a Panasonic TC-P54VT25 television set that, more times than not, won't turn on, though if I unplug it from the back and then plug it back in, it will sometimes turn on right away, though sometimes it takes up a dozen times of unplugging and replugging to get it to work. The red blinking light doesn't abide by any of the error codes. It simply blinks, non-stop, every 2-3 seconds.

In short: It seems as I have the same problem posted by Frank3y3 on the forum in January of last year, though I've done nothing to the TV outside of unscrewing the back to peer inside, access that the fans appear to not be the issue and give everything a dusting.

From what I can glean, from messages on this board and beyond, it seems that it's a board issue, and that a purchase of a TNPA5081 is in my future, to which I can probably install myself using my better-than-average handyman skills. If someone, though, feels that I may be trekking down the wrong path, please let me know.

    Much appreciated.

I would have posted the link for Frank3y3, we're severely lacking in the mind reading department.

I do recall his issue was in fact D-board for a 1 blink error.

I'm somewhat confused with "The red blinking light doesn't abide by any of the error codes. It simply blinks, non-stop, every 2-3 seconds."

1 blink every 2-3 seconds repeating sounds like 1 blink? How many blinks before it breaks for 2-3 secs then repeats?

I will have to find that thread and have a re-read. I forget now if i found a way to prove A-board or D-board but next time it fails, get a hair dryer and warm the D-board only and see if you get an instant result of it turning on.

D board will be the cheaper of the 2 boards and going on the previous thread which is same size, model and symptoms, if I was to roll the dice I'd go with D-board.

tw2005...I'm not a religious person, but bless you.

I thought I understood the error code explanations for these Panasonic TVs...as in, I assumed when people described a one-blink error, that meant the system blinked once and then, period, it shut off. Ditto a two-blink error, seven-link error, etc.

Yes, the light on the system blinks once, then, every 2-3 seconds, blinks again, and on and on and on. Absolutely no break...at least not up to the point that I've counted, which was about thirtysomething blinks.

Below is the link to the post that seemed to describe my issue almost to a T.

So the D Board is the TNPA5081?

Thank you for the hair dryer suggestion. So if I warm that up and I get an instant result (as in the TV goes on) that definitely suggests it's the D Board?

No, 5081 is the SC, did you look at all of Franky thread? D board is identifed and photos too. 5149 off the top of my head. Rev, well look at yours 2 letter stamp or maybe a sticker. I think it's center of panel below the Power supply.

I would try warming only that board and see if it turns on. If it does not, does not mean anything either , if it does then that's an induced change.

If a flash or eeprom chip on that is corrupted, then no number of attempts will bring it back.

Hey, tw2005, just wanted to quickly chime in and say thanks for the quick and most useful guidance last week. Admittedly, I was too lazy to find a hair dryer to heat up the D Board, but as I was more than positive that that was the problem, I went ahead and bought TNPA5081 on Ebay and am very happy to say that after replacing the part earlier today, the TV is working like a charm again. Thanks again.

good to hear but I hope you mean the TNPA5149 D-board, not the TNPA5081 SC board

Oy, yes, me and my hasty cutting and pasting. Yup, the TNPA5149 D-board is what I purchased. Just wanted to clarify that in case others end up on this page looking for similar guidance.

Panasonic TC-P55ST50 8 blinks then no blinks
                  by Andre Gilbert
Hello! yes I know there is already lots of information about this issue. I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that originally displayed an 8-blink error code. Following the troubleshooting flowchart, I ended up replacing the SS board. However, even after replacing it, the issue persists. The TV turns on and stays on without displaying an image, and continuity is confirmed on all connectors. What am I missing here🤔?
Ok Im a mechanical engineer ...but I thought I was able to follow a rather simple flowchart for electric troubleshooting 😂.

Problem with PANASONIC CF53 laptop after changing BIOS settings
                  by AquaMan Ua
Hello. I am asking you for a hint on how to solve the problem with my touchbook Panasonic CF53-2 standart model. After setting up the BIOS, the laptop displays the wrong image until Windows loads. (More precisely, it displays, but distorted, instead of the Panasonic image immediately after turning it on, it displays what is in photo #1 in the attached file) Then the image appears when Windows starts loading and then there are no problems with the screen until the reboot. If you enter the BIOS, just a black screen. If you connect an external screen, the image on it is the same as on the built-in...

                  by aa10aa10
                  Good day,

I have tried to remove BIOS supervisor password from Panasonic Toughbook CF-33 mk1. Model number CF-33AENABTG, unfortunately I don't have any other info.

I read the BIOS using afuwin, edited it and tried to flash new edited BIOS using afuwin. Unsuccessfully. Afuwin showed "Error: Problem erasing flash." starting with 0x00040000 and stoped. Then I tried many other options to flash BIOS from Windows without any luck. Finally i rebooted the device - and no post. Afterwards I have read the corrupted bios chip (MX25L12873F) using EZP2010 programmer....
