Re: LG Won't turn on 47ld450

It is a common fault with various sets & it wouldn't at all surprise me...

Although they are not EEPROMs but flash memory that get corrupted (these words are often used interchangeably but the devices have quite a few differences.)

Well, at least sell/give it as faulty making note of your prior diagnosis so someone else can make an attempt.

I'm still trying to figure out what's wrong with this on. Had 3 main boards and still same problem.
I've got the power board out and plugged in with the 3.5v jumped to pwr on.
I then get all correct readings apart from p-dim a-dim and inv on/off. Would this be correct as the mains not plugged in.

I have the same model with exactly the same issue - did you ever track down the problem? I'm thinking it could be the power supply even though the caps look good.

Re: LG Won't turn on 47ld450

              Hi.

I have this tv that turns on and show picture for a few seconds. Power board makes a loud humming noise.
Forced power board to turn on using resistors on PS-ON and BL-ON and I get the same thing, screen turns on for a few seconds and goes off. In those few seconds I notice shadows, like if some lamps are not turning on.

Disconnecting screen from power board, the power board still makes a loud humming noise. My believe is a defective power board. I couldn't find any over heated component or loose connection.

Does anybody have any suggestion on what to try before I order a new power board?

              Thank you
