Panasonic TH-42PX8EA ( only starts from cold )

Hi

I have this 42" Plasma Tv it will come on and work normally when cold
but if you leave it for 15 min switch it off and than back on the
back light comes on but no picture on screen is displayed .

I think it is something from the Main board ( TNPH0711 ).

Any help will be much Appreciated .

Also noted that the main has been recapped previously, did you do this?

Thanks for your reply .

Yes I have replace most of the electrolytics found them to have high ESR
but that was not the fault .

I will upload the pictures and service manual tomorrw as i am not in the workshop right now .

Would be helpful

Just for future : The cap that is practically resting against the IC... Move it. If that cap bulges at any point you can be certain the venting cap will touch the pins of that IC and short it out

Hi

At this point I am going to try replacing the main board , I did found the main
board with the same part number but , the seller say that it was being used
on another Tv Model ( but still 42" PANASONIC TH42PX80 )

If you have digital TV on this set, it may not work with different main board

Hi

so the Main-board just arrived , installed it and I got 7 red blinks from the front
LED checked on the service manual for this error and found that it got to be something with all the boards surrounding the main-board excluding the PSU

so I figured out the the board was expecting voltages of another TV Size
so it was a Firmware problem .

What i did is I swapped the Flash chip from the old main board containing the firmware , and finally the Tv Powers ON !! but than i discovered that Now I have a Geometry Problem , found out which EEprom was containing the geometry and swapped it from the old BOARD FINALLY it was ALL OK !!
