    Vizio VO42L - Red Fuzz

    Hi everyone,
I have a Vizio VO42L FHDTV10A with a problem that I can only describe as intermittent at best, and what happens is, the dark areas of the screen start turning red and fuzzy. I havent been able to find a whole lot of information on this through typical google searches, nor here. Im capable of testing anything that needs be tested, and probably replacing as well, I just need a starting point of what someone might think the problem is, and what i can test to verify. Attached are some pictures of the problem.

Did you try reseating the cable on the T-CON board?
Need to see the pictures of the T-CON board, I would say T-CON board problem.

That is the T-CON board but there are more than one version of this TV model, your TV may not use LG LCD panel or LG panel but different version, so you need to verify.

OK, this T-CON does not use the typical GAMMA IC AS15/AS19 IC.
So did you try re-seating the cable between the T-CON and the main board?

            This is your T-CON board:

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
                    by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                    Assuming...

                    Hi.

picked up another TV. This time is a Vizio M65-C1. TV does not turn on. I had repaired another 60 inch vizio , Bad main board.
When power button is pressed, the Power led indicator on the bottom right, turns for a few seconds and then it fades away. No backlight or Vizio logo on screen. Removed back cover and repeated test.
This is the TV This TV is a little different from the Samsung I have worked on. Power supply is on the Left side, Main Bd is on the right side, T-CON , not in the picture is on the bottom. I am assuming that the boards in the middle are the LED...

                    Vizio VO42L Issues: Need Guidance
                    by ChillingCicada
We've had our Vizio VO42L since before 2010, and it's worked flawlessly this entire time. However, just recently it started emitting a high-pitched buzzing/humming sound. I followed the basic troubleshooting tips of just unplugging it for a moment, and even holding down the power button while doing so, all to no avail.

Furthermore, after I attempted these basic steps and powered the TV back on it would always begin visually flickering while the sound stuttered. After a few moments of being turned on this would go away, but it still periodically comes back.

                    I also...

Vizio VO42L, white logo, no backlight, no picture
                    by Daveleone
Hi all! I've got a Vizio VO42L. Plug it in, and logo flashes orange/white for a bit, then solid orange. Press power, and logo changes to white. There is no backlight.
From reading some of the posts here I thought the inverter could have been the problem, but I've replaced it and still have the same issue. I noted that shining a flashlight on the screen shows nothing, so now I'm thinking main board?

I took the following readings with the TV powered on. I also tried taking the readings with the CFL connectors unplugged - no change.

                    Main board:
