No sound on Panasonic Viera TV

The sound on my Panasonic Viera 46" Plasma tv model TH46PZ80U suddenly went out last night. All other functions are working properly and all connections and setting are correct but no sound at all. Is there a sound card/board that can be replaced or is it time to trash it and get a new tv???

Re: No sound on Panasonic Viera TV

Could use the set with a sound-bar maybe....

PZ80 has SPDIF sound out optical, could try that....

Need to determine whether the sound fault is in the signal stages or the output stage....

Does that model have a headphone socket? If it does and you plug in a headphone, do you hear sound through the headphone?

Does any one else have access to the TV? Maybe check to be certain that someone didn't turn the speakers off.

Panasonic TX-24A1UN CRT Sound and Input problem.
          by hugocarmo
          Hi.

I´ve been given an old CRT from Panasonic, it´s almost new, it was storaged and almost not used since bought.
It is imaculate inside, almost no dust or debris inside.
The picture is good, but I have no left sound channel, I tried all the inputs, outputs, even on headphone jack. In AV2 I hear sound from right channel but no image, on tv tuner only right sound channel, the same for AV1.
So I started to look for a service manual, I found one, and started from the beginning.
Most of the times the caps are the problem so I orderer all the caps for all boards,...

what i went through dealing with my mobo with dead onboard sound!
          by ChaosLegionnaire
so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!! what did we say about hoarding too much stuff and depriving others of them?! *cough* socialism *cough* lol!

i had to blow some dust off the board and heatsinks with the datavac as i didnt clean it up before putting it in storage. after finishing...

Grundig Vision 9 37 9880 T USB (Chassis SR) TV Repair Help - Distorted Subwoofer Sound and overall weird sound waveforms
          by LEECH666
          Good day ladies and gentleman!

I am currently trying to repair a Grundig Vision 9 37 9880 T USB LCD TV for a friend that has a weird audio problem. Basically everything works fine except for the heavily distorted sound when the Subwoofer module is connected and there is a buzzing sound coming from the PSU PCB.

This seems to be a rather rare TV so there is not much prior on topic help to be found however a service manual is available at the usual sources (Electro Tanya i.e.).

I think the PSU buzzing comes from one of the coils near the bridge rectifier but...

Panasonic TH-55AS670A no picture no sound

          Hi everyone,

I've got this Panasonic TV here with the following symptoms:

          * Standby Light is solid RED
          * Turning on using the Button on the TV (long press) would change LED to blinking GREEN
          * After a couple of seconds, LED is solid GREEN and without picture or sound.

I've tried a couple of things before tearing it apart:

          * Resetting using various combinations of powerbutton and volume buttons pressing down while booting.
          * Activating Self Check according to service manual using IR Blaster (we have no remote unfortunately)...

I picked up a Panasonic NH-P70G2, though it would apply to the NH-P80G2, NH-P70G1 and NH-P80G1 models as well, as maybe some other models. This one was coming up with a H86 error. After lots of testing and googling it was an error with one of the thermistors in the condenser area.
The attached French service manuals is incorrect, TH11 is gray and is a 95k thermistor and TH12 is black and is a 35k thermistor.
In my case TH12 was bad. I was able to get a 35k thermistor on AliExpress. It's 6mm in diameter.
Unfortunately the whole machine has to come apart to fix it.
          I have...
