    LG50 PA6500 Plasma no pic/sound

    Hi,

I have a LG50PA6500 that I need some advice with. The set has no picture or sound and does not respond to the remote or the control buttons. On the front of the set the standby light stays red and on the back there are a couple of other lights. On the main board there is another red light and on the logic board there is a green flashing light.

I have tested the outputs from the PSU board to the main board to determine if the PSU is at fault. The results I got are listed below in the same sequence they can be seen on the guide next to the plug. Can someone please tell me if these measured voltages are correct?

    M_ON 3.342V AUTO GND 0.006V
    RL_ON 2.561V AC DET 4.165V
    STBY 5.196V STBY 5.196V
    GND 0.02V GND 0.02V
    GND 0.02V GND 0.02V
    5.2 5.192v ERR DET 3.855v
    5.2 5.192v 5.2 5.192V
    GND 0.02V GND 0.02V
    17 17.04V 17 17.04V

    Any advice would be welcome.
    Thanks,

    Anthony.

These sets had a tab issue on the top most panel flex
check for a bubble or split on the panel flex before you go any further ,because if the flex is damaged the tv will be a write off
do this by removing the top buffer board
Also check the top buffer chip or shorts
If you have a shorted chip you will need to replace the ysus ,both buffers ,and this will be uneconomical
If interested i have one of these sets working with sound ,but with faulty buffer boards
    how to test buffer boards

do you have any power to both ysus and zsus boards ?
Check the fuse on the LHS ysus board and the fuse on the RHS xsus board ,both these are small yellow fuses marked fuse.

Hi Chris, Thanks for the reply.

I've had a look at all the flexes going into the buffer board and they all seem good. I've also tested the buffer boards for shorts by running a meter probe along the connectors and checking for any shorts to ground. The Y-sus does make alot of noise when it is powered up though. Is this normal?

I've tested with a meter that there is power to the z-sus and y-sus boards via the plugs.
          I'll double check the fuses.

            On your control board

            Ie: this one.

Put a wire jumper between the two holes marked ext auto gen.

            Here:

Unplug the LVDS cable to main board.

Plug in the TV and if you get test patterns on screen you have a faulty mainboard.

              Hi,

I connected the two holes you mention with a jumper cable but got nothing on the screen.

I have also tested the fuses on the y-sys and z-sys boards along with the PSU board and all the fuses seem ok. The voltages are recorded below.

              Y-sus. 16.4v
              Z-sus. 55v
              PSU top 140v
              PSU bottom 240v

              Are these the correct readings?

Firstly before looking at your voltages, You did remove the LDVS cable when you jumpered the control board right?

Y-sus 15v ok but check Va should be 205v
check the voltage at the 8 pin plug right/top pin 8 as shown on the board
                  Your VA z-sus looks ok

                    Hi,

I jumpered the holes with the ribbon cable to the main board unplugged. Was this the correct one? I got no picture.

I'll double check the vs going to the ysus at pin 8. I'm sure I checked and it's ok. Will let you know.

so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!! what did we say about hoarding too much stuff and depriving others of them?! *cough* socialism *cough* lol!

i had to blow some dust off the board and heatsinks with the datavac as i didnt clean it up before putting it in storage. after finishing...

                            Good day ladies and gentleman!

I am currently trying to repair a Grundig Vision 9 37 9880 T USB LCD TV for a friend that has a weird audio problem. Basically everything works fine except for the heavily distorted sound when the Subwoofer module is connected and there is a buzzing sound coming from the PSU PCB.

This seems to be a rather rare TV so there is not much prior on topic help to be found however a service manual is available at the usual sources (Electro Tanya i.e.).

I think the PSU buzzing comes from one of the coils near the bridge rectifier but...

Picked up a bahemoth plasma TV not too long ago and just now getting around to looking at it.
No picture but you hear the TV static (white noise) playing loud and clear.
The back was already taken off (and no screws were provided) as the previous owner had already taken a look.
But it seems they didn't get too far and just left it.

When I first took a look I was amazed at how pristine the inside looked.
Its as if the TV had been in a time capsule.
Caps looked like they were just pulled off the self.

This is my first Craigslist freebie fix attempt. 50 inch LG Plasma TV Previous owner said over time it was struggling to turn on, it would take 4-5 times to turn on, the one day it just did entirely. I took it home and plugged it in, I her a click, then a second later another click, and nothing. Dead as a doorknob

So I took the back off and check voltages. The power supply appears fine, I checked the VS, VA, and 5V voltages and they all measured correct, on the power supply board and on the display boards (Y and X boards). All the fuses are fine

                            Hello to the forum.

My name is Christos, I am new to the forum here and i am posting from Greece.

So i have this old German sound card from Marian, called Trace Alpha. To be exact i have 2 of them and i use them professionally for my small FM radio station here. The first one works like a charm, but the second one does not work at all.

To be more specific in the same exact pc with windows 7 (i even tried 32bit) the one works while the other doesn't.

So i tried asking for a schematic from the company and they would not give me one. Instead they...
