OK, below is the location to test for 12V DC on the Power board, is that correct? I'm at work now but will do the voltage reading tonight.

    Thanks for your suggestion.

OK, you need to check PNL_ON pin and PNL12V on the power supply board PD connector.
There is white glue covering up PD-10 names, I believe pin 10 is the Pnl_on PIN.

Thanks for the advise regarding 12 VDC readings.

I have taken DC voltage readings at the 4 pin PL Plug with no DC voltage present. See attachment

Check for DCV on both ends of the Ferrite Bead FB4801 to see if you do have 12VDC against chassis GND.

I can't say for sure but I think panel + 12 is on the PL plug on the tcon board.

Thank R_J for the service manual. I actually just got mine. Paid $4.00 from a site. It's always good to have for reference purposes.

These have the lcd board located at the bottom of the screen which is very susceptible to water damage, If too much cleaning liquid is used and it runs down the screen that board is usually the first to get wet.

Hi Johnboy1313, thank you for the reply. I should get the service manual download sometime today, it's from a Spanish site APITE. Will be removing the back panel cover sometime today or tomorrow.

Should I do the reset procedure first?

Try disconnecting the ribbon cables between the tcon and the panel. If the TV then powers on, the panel has failed. If the TV still has the 2-5 code, I would change the tcon.

    Sharp Aquos LC-70LE732U Blinking Pattern 2 -5

Hello to all, this is my first post. Have called Sharp to ask about the blinking pattern, 2 long 5 short. No help they only want your address to do a service call. So I decided to find out what is the root cause of the blinking fault code 2 long pause 5 short.

I have good knowledge of electronics, soldering using a muli meter reading schematics etc. Just looking for a direction, have ordered a service manual, am ready to roll my sleeve, put my glasses on and eager for some guidance.

    Thanking you all in advance.

SHARP AQUOS LC-70LE836S only blinking - freebie
    by olegeisler
Got this SHARP AQUOS LC-70LE836S for free - did some basic troubleshooting, and found manual - without detail schematics though. Comes from a meeting room with extremely few working hours.

    Symptoms :

When connected to mains, the logo blinks continously, approx 6 times per 10 seconds.

A press on MENU as per the manual changes this to one short blink, one long and then repeats.

Only 5V ( Standby ) on PSU module present, no AC_DETECT, no 12V, no 13V, no PS_ON from mainboard.

As I see it mainboard has some kind of life, but does not...

Sharp Aquos LC-70C6400U Half Screen Dark
    by scubacamper
I found another post on this site the other day which has been very helpful in troubleshooting this issue I am having with my tv. The left half of the screen is dark, and the other half is VERY slow to generate it's image - and it only generates part of its image at that.
Based on this yt video, I have narrowed it down to an issue (short?) on the left side of the display, somewhere in the system of ribbon cables.
when I remove the bezel and the rear cover, I can get the image to display correctly by manipulating the ribbon cables on the left side which connects the left lower display...

Sharp Aquos Lc-80LE757U flashing Sharp on screen when plugged in
    by sefoster
I have a Sharp Aquos LC-80LE757U that randomly made a loud popping noise when when watching TV one day. We found that the fuse blew and the thermistor. We ended up replacing the entire power supply board and have also replaced the TCON board. Now as soon as I plug the TV in it lights up and has the Sharp logo flashing on and off of the screen. If I unplug the ribbon cable from the TCON board to the main board I get the 2 long 5 short error code. Any ideas on where to go from here? We've tried resetting it but nothing has worked. If we plug it in and let it cycle through the flashing of the Sharp...

Sharp Aquos LC-40UG7252E LCD TV burn in?
    by jonah1024
    Hello!

I'm a few days old into this TV screens repair universe so please bear with me.

Recently, and all of a sudden my 40” 4K Sharp Aquos LCD TV turned on with colors all smudged in some places on the screen that remain like that even without any kind of video source. I do have image but the colors are smudged/tinted/ washed out in patches as per defects. This to me looks similar to burn in but I’m shore this is not an OLED.

    - I did the classic unplug and hold power button to discharge the caps but it didn't help.
    - I did a factory reset as well...

Sharp LC-40LE830E white blinking after wallplug is off
    by bajdik
Hello, on Sharp LC-40LE830E is everything OK. Working great. If I put the 230 V off and on again, it just blinking white standby LED. I can power on only via VOL- and CH+ and POWER button on TV. After that, I can power off and power on again without problem (by buttons or remote control) until the 230 V is connected. If i put the plug off and on again, just white standby LED blinking. TV needs three button starting again.. On the first look, the backlight looks great, no darker or lighter spots. Any idea what is wrong?
