Re: LG 55EA870V with partial life, but no picture - Freebie again
Seems like no boot with 24V disconnected. I guess it is E-waste time.......

LG 55EA870V with partial life, but no picture - Freebie again
Got this 55" OLED for free - the manual found on Elektrotanya and attached here, but it is maybe the worst service manual I have ever seen...
Symptoms :
No picture, nothing, but can be operated on/off with the remote control, power consumption goes to around 60W when ON, and the main CPU and big BGA on "Tcon" gets hot. All voltages mentioned in the service manual are present.
The LG LOGO comes with a single "heartbeat" at power on, and I have seen a handful of bright dots on the lower part of the panel at power off a couple...

Re: SHARP AQUOS LC-70LE836S only blinking - freebie
It will probably go as a donation, or at a VERY low price, for someone in need - I will get a divorce if I try to drag 70" into the house, and I also have no genuine interest in TV as such, so...
The fun part is done now ( to get it working )...

Re: SHARP AQUOS LC-70LE836S only blinking - freebie
Seems so, yes - and after clearing the error everything seems to work just fine. Picture is perfect, all OK - has been running for 20 hours now.
No parts replaced, nothing - only resetting the error in Service Menu.
Thank you for your valuable input.
PS: It only has 357 hours on the counter, so it is like new.......

Re: SHARP AQUOS LC-70LE836S only blinking - freebie
Set is working !
Found this https://electro-medical.blogspot.com/2016/01/sharp-lc-70le835-lc-70le836-lc-70le838.html and it seems if a fault is detected from backlight 5 times, the set goes into this mode. I got the message that this set is highly sensitive for this, and backlight sensing should be turned off.
After clearing the error, set is fully functional, I will let it run for a long period to check if any issues, but so far the picture is perfect, backlight has no ...

Re: SHARP AQUOS LC-70LE836S only blinking - freebie
Took a little reverse engineering - but now I know that the AC_DETECT is only functional when the PS_ON is active. Feeding the PS_ON with BU5 (Standby 5V ) via a 1K resistor turns on the 13V PSU, and then the AC_DETECT goes to 3V3.
I guess it smells like a motherboard issue, but it can be purchased at a low price. So, unless anyone has some very good suggestions, I will invest in a mainboard. Makes little sense to try to do anything with the mainboard without a proper schematic - and the chance that...

SHARP AQUOS LC-70LE836S only blinking - freebie
Got this SHARP AQUOS LC-70LE836S for free - did some basic troubleshooting, and found manual - without detail schematics though. Comes from a meeting room with extremely few working hours.
Symptoms :
When connected to mains, the logo blinks continously, approx 6 times per 10 seconds.
A press on MENU as per the manual changes this to one short blink, one long and then repeats.
Only 5V ( Standby ) on PSU module present, no AC_DETECT, no 12V, no 13V, no PS_ON from mainboard.
As I see it mainboard has some kind of life, but does not...

Re: SAMSUNG UE40H7005 - no picture but backlight and bootlooping
Thank you
Disconnecting the MB>T-con cable status :
- Current consumption decreases
- No backlight ( explains the creduced current consumption )
- Still boot looping
I guess bad mainboard, will try to reflow main CPU tomorrow, unless a better suggestion arrives here.........
THANKS !

SAMSUNG UE40H7005 - no picture but backlight and bootlooping
Hi
Have this 2015 40" SAMSUNG UE40H7005 - see pictures attached.
Owner really wants THIS TV fixed... But really has no value...
Symptoms : No picture ( and no sound ) - but backlight OK, seems to boot-loop though, backlight on for approx. 15 seconds, then off one second - and repeat indefinitely.
Sanity check of voltages seems OK, heatsinks on both mainboard and T-con heats up. Mainboard is BN94-07352J
Unable to find manual / schematic, and very little information in general.
Is it just a corrupt NAND / bad...

Re: LG 60PX950N - no HDMI - partly repaired
Well - I took the chance - and it worked
Procedure :
Removed heatsink
Mainboard placed on toaster, driven by my vario, slow heating until thermometer said approx. 80C
Put a lot of flux on the edges and let it boil ( Chipquick )
Used hot air gun ( SUNKKO 850 ) on the chip, carefully until flux started to boil heavily and smoke
Let it cool, tested - works
THANKS !...

Re: LG 60PX950N - no HDMI - partly repaired
Now got service remote - and can enter service menu, but not much to do.
Found the correct software, but it is the same version as already on the set, I am not allowed to re-write.
Can see signals go in to the HDMI switch, and out - so I guess I probably faces a main processor failure.
Unless someone has a reall good idea.......

Re: LG 60PX950N - no HDMI - partly repaired
Thanks for the response
HDMI:
Tried with my DVB-S receiver and a Disc player on all inputs - same result
RESET :
Just ran "RESET ALL" from menu, no luck
Firmware reload :
No - I can find software for 60PX950UE, mine is 60PX950N
Should I try ?
Service remote : It is really cheap, so if this has an advantage, I can just order...

LG 60PX950N - no HDMI - partly repaired
Got this GIANT and HEAVY old plasma TV - No USB, and no HDMI.
USB fixed, a SMD ferrite, and changed IC800 HDMI Switch TDA19997 - after this, the TV can "see" HDMI when I plug sources, but when selected it just says "Connecting" and after a few seconds "no signal" - this is true on all inputs.
( I am almost certain that no detection took place before changing IC800 )
Checked 1V8 and 3V3 for HDMI chip, is OK.
Cannot go into service mode, since this requires a special remote ( I can buy if it helps )
