LG 32LX2R-ZE Very first attempt at a TV fix --- 5V SB present but no standby

My very first attempt at fixing a TV (LG 32LX2R). The 5V SB is present and when I short this to ON, the relay clicks and all voltages are present and correct. When I reconnect the power board to the logic board, the SB voltage drops, but no relay click or standby light.
All of the Caps on the TV look ok but I can't test them until my ESR meter turns up.
The strange thing is that yesterday when I first tried shorting 5V SB to on and the relay clicked, I reconnected the power board and everything worked and I ran the TV for 4 hours switching it on and off several times and I disconnected the mains several times.
I left it disconnected from the mains last night and this morning it was dead with no standby.
Can I assume that the power board is ok and if so I am unsure of the next steps.

Any help would be gratefully received

Posting pictures of the back of your tv showing the boards with clear pictures may help you more with fixing your problem

Thanks for the guidance. Photos of the Power and logic boards attached.

Same here. No signs of life. Disconnecting PSU from MAIN, 5V STBY shows up. I've replaced C221 and C222 (1000uF/10V, related to 5V standby) and it has been able to start. I've read reports that all caps from secondary must be replaced to do a good repair, even if they're not bulging. ESR from C221 and C222 isn't bad at all, but neither good.

I guess that C221 and C222 are the minimum ones to replace in any case, because this part of the circuit is alive as long as the TV is plugged to mains (this means always, for most people). Then, other caps degeneration will depend on active usage of the TV.

On the other hand, as soon as it's turned on I've smelled ozone. This means arcing on CCFL wiring. I've detected that 3 middle lamps wires are touching the metal frame. Rusting can be seen in the point were the cable was touching the frame. One of the cables had damage in its sleeve. Other lamps don't have this problem, because there's a plastic shape that (unintentionally) prevents wires from getting close to the metal. I'll insulate this to prevent further problems, but it seems that all sets will have the same problem.

Replace the capacitor on the 5 volt stand by rail first of all , in every set I have done it looks o.k but has dried up .

Also replace ALL the 47uf 25v caps on the primary side of the Psu they are also very common to cause no 5vstby.

              Yamaha HTR-3065 No power/No Standby
              by redbaron1007
I got a Yamaha HTR-3065 on the bench currently that's got a no power/ no standby issue. When I plug it in it draws 0.01A from the wall, the relay for the ac transformer never clicks, there are no standby lights on the front, and pressing the power button does nothing. The fuse was not blown but upon measuring the voltages on the power low voltage power supply board (labeled operation 3 pg 89 in the schematic) they do not match what the schematic says they should be.

Sony Bravia XBR-65x900f: No Power, No Standby-light - however 3.3v STBY is present
              by SkishyIshy
              Hey All,

              I have a Sony 65x900f that I purchased cheap because of a no-power issue.
I assumed that because there is no standby light visible, it would be an easy fix - however upon opening up of the unit I can confirm that the 3v3 standby voltage is making it's way from the power supply to the main board. I'm a little confused as to why there is no standby light.

I am firstly wondering if anyone has this model of TV, or has worked on one and can give me some insight. I have tried to find a service manual for this model, to no avail - and would really appreciate...

LG OLED77B29LA shuts itself down/doesn't start
              by ILoveZeroTwo
              Hello,

I'm trying to fix a TV that got damaged by rain (open window during a storm).

The TV at first would start up and work completely normal, with no lines on the screen or anything. But after about 30 seconds, it turned itself off. After it shut itself down, starting it up directly afterward is no longer possible.

The standby light is red and it blinks once on the power-on command by the remote. The relay also does not click anymore when plugged into the wall.

Standby voltages are all present and stable, approximately 13V for the 20V line...

Burco BCPLSAFWM5L 5 Litre Wall Mounted Automatic Water Boiler With Filtration UK 240v

Does anybody have any experience with these Burco units at all there is no record of them on the forum lol and a proper service manual would be nice. I invite you all to pesuade me not to botch repair it with a 5v relay, read on.

This unit was rescued from a skip 3 years ago, the only fault it had then was no backight display (plus it wanted a new probe set and top seal) but the screen was never an issue you can still see the screen as is and I just use it to get 5 Litres of very hot...

              9V relay temperature 40C
              by jm1234
Hi, I'm seeing one 9V relay having temperature 40C on its 9V (primary) side. Does that seem right? I switched 2 relays on that board and the temperature was the same (on the same position), so I'm sure it's not a faulty relay. I measured voltage on that relay and it was 9.5V DC, so that looks good. I don't see any other relay on that board having that kind of temperature and they have 9V on them too.
I thought maybe the transistor that is switching this relay keeps switching on/off, so I also checked for AC and there was almost none: 0.3V using mV range. No steady frequency was shown, but...
