    Yamaha HTR-3065 No power/No Standby

I got a Yamaha HTR-3065 on the bench currently that's got a no power/ no standby issue. When I plug it in it draws 0.01A from the wall, the relay for the ac transformer never clicks, there are no standby lights on the front, and pressing the power button does nothing. The fuse was not blown but upon measuring the voltages on the power low voltage power supply board (labeled operation 3 pg 89 in the schematic) they do not match what the schematic says they should be.
    S9 13.7V

    Pwr Ry 0V
    AC Det 9.1V
    Mgnd 0V GND

The two pins on the transformer for the operation 3 board that are marked as 9.1V AC are reading 13.7VAC when I measure it. I measured the voltage at the 9v relay DC pins and they are either 13.7V or 15V, not really sure why there is any fluctation there, but my guess is something to do with the C1501 connected to it since the relay reading is always consistent with the cap reading. Nothing was reading shorted on the operation 3 board, all the resistors were spot on what they should be and when I checked the relay out of circuit with my bench psu it would click at 9v.

On the operation 2 board (pg 89 of the schematic) there are no voltages present except for on IC131(NJM2388F33)

    pin 1 13.66V
    pin 2 3.26V
    Pin 3 0v GND
    Pin 4 1.5V

3.3V is present on the capacitors directly connected to the output of IC131 but none of the other voltage regulators fed by the 3.3v output of IC131 have any output. On CB131 only the 3.3v lines have any voltage on them and the voltage is getting from the operation 2 board to the digital board. I have checked all the other IC's and voltage regulators on ope2 out of circuit and they are testing fine they just either aren't being fed an input voltage or are not outputting when they are in circuit.

I did also check everything out with my thermal camera and nothing was heating up at all on any of the boards. I have also checked all the caps in circuit with my esr meter and none of them are reading out of spec. I know that's not the way to test them but nothing jumped out at me as having 20ohm esr's or anything alarming.

Not really sure where to go from here with this one. I'm suspecting something weird is going on on the operation 3 board that's causing an issue on the operation 2 board, but I haven't been able to figure it out yet and after a couple days of messing with it and measuring I figure it's time to ask for some help rather than going any crazier over it.

    Yamaha TSX 120 Standby Problem
    by psssst
Hello forum. I've recently been given a Yamaha TSX 120 DAB radio and ipod dock. Its working well however when put on standby its using 6.3 watts. The manual states less than 1 watt on standby. I measured this with a plug in monitor which seems accurate with other items. In use it uses around 7.5 watts. Firstly has anyone who owns a similar radio also got a plug in monitor to check if this is normal with this unit? In the first half a second the monitor shows 0.3 watts which I suspect is what it should use but something is switching it to be almost fully powered. I've searched the manual for eco...

Yamaha RX-V373 no voltage on the standby switch
    by hemant_2222
    Hello everyone,

Could someone please advise on this. I have this Yamaha taken from a friend for repair, especially since it had a USB for my interest. But it is not working at all.

Here is what has been done so far. Checking the standby switch did not show 3.3 volts on one of its pins, the other was ground. it is showing as 0.60 volts. I have changed the switch as it had some resistance even when normally open. After changing the switch, I next saw that PIN 91 is not showing 3.3 volts.

The processor clock pin show 2.8 on pin 18 (XOUT) and 0.80 on pin...

Garage door RX unit (Cardin S38C) does not short relay to send opening signal
    by CoinCoin88
    Hello everyone,

I'm turning to the Badcaps community to help me troubleshoot the radio Rx card from my (old) garage door opener. While I could just ditch that card and replace the whole system, I first would like to understand "why" it suddenly stopped working, because that's just how I am wired...!

Some basics: the receiver works on a 30.875 Mhz frequency. Yes, I'm aware this is not in use anymore in a looot of places. It does not use any rolling code, it's just a regular dip-switch code that you have to set up on both the receiver and transmitter. The receiver...

    9V relay temperature 40C
    by jm1234
Hi, I'm seeing one 9V relay having temperature 40C on its 9V (primary) side. Does that seem right? I switched 2 relays on that board and the temperature was the same (on the same position), so I'm sure it's not a faulty relay. I measured voltage on that relay and it was 9.5V DC, so that looks good. I don't see any other relay on that board having that kind of temperature and they have 9V on them too.
I thought maybe the transistor that is switching this relay keeps switching on/off, so I also checked for AC and there was almost none: 0.3V using mV range. No steady frequency was shown, but...

Biomass Boiler not driving cleaner motor relay. ENERTRES BIOMASA BI-650
    by edugimeno
    Hi everyone!
I have this board that suddenly stopped supplying power to an output that drives an interchanger cleaner motor.
I checked while the board was in place with all wires attached and there's no AC voltage on the corresponding plug X5
This X5 is driven by fuse F8 (tested OK) which comes from the second orange relay
To make sure there are no charcoaled contacts inside the relay, I got a 24VDC power supply and got it ready to manually power up the coil side of these relays.
I respected the polarity, positive to cathode of protecting diode
    So provided all...
