Re: Samsung BN44-00703B power supply (TV turns off / on)
I'm interested to see how this pans out for Ole.
I have a "trash picked" Samsung UE55ES8000UXXU. It has a great picture and it could be a really good TV. However when I first tried using it the menu would freeze.I needed to restart the TV to move further through the menu until it froze again. Re: 40" Philips 40pfl4706/f7 Mother board replacement
Hi ion4449
I'm curious to hear if you made any progress with your Philips TV. I have a Philips TV with the same problem, it cycles through the logo screen.
I got it on Ebay and seller told me that it had been replaced under warranty by the retailer who never bothered to pick up the faulty TV. She said that it worked for about 3 weeks before the fault appeared. I am currently setting up a hobby workshop and I haven't looked at the TV yet.
I wonder if you have made any progress...

All of the Caps on the TV look ok but I can't test them until my ESR meter turns up.
The strange thing is that yesterday when I first tried shorting 5V SB to on and the relay clicked, I reconnected the power board and everything worked and I ran the TV for 4 hours switching it on and off several times and I disconnected...

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hi all, I'm really pleased to join this forum. Its great to see so many people with common interests and such a wealth of high quality of technical know how. I started out my working life as an Apprentice Electrician and then moved into various different related fields. It's about 30 years since I was last paid for using a screw driver and I do miss that now that I'm in my mid fifties. I have varied interests in all things technical. Tinkering, hacking and a bit of Java coding.
I have recently decided to try and fix electronic...
