Hate to start a new thread - but this is a different power supply than the others. When power button is pushed, white light comes on, nothing else - then it slowly fades out. I checked output = 19.5volts, where others read 24V. Have 5v standby at power switch. Other boards for this model had 35v caps near output - this one has 25v caps? Does anyone know what the voltage should be for this board? Thanks

I like putting up new threads. How many boards are there? Upload pictures of the other boards. -
Re: Vizio E320-A0
Output filter caps are rated at 25V so the output probably 12~19V range.
This a single output power supply so 19.5V out sound about right.
What is the TV not doing?
BTW, there are more than one version of E320-A:

Re: Vizio E320-A0
When you hit the power button a small white LED comes on for about 5-6 seconds, then slowly fades. No picture, no sound. In looking at replacement components I noticed there are several different power supplies and main boards for the E320-A0.Comment

Re: Vizio E320-A0
Usually for Vizio there are different versions of PSU's that will work for multiple TV's.
Mainboards are a different matter, it all depends on the panel and T-con for compatibility. I have 2 different models of 32" Vizio's, a E320VL and an E321VA. PSU's will swap as connections and output volts match. But the mainboards have totally different LVDS connection locations.Comment

Re: Vizio E320-A0
At this point, after verifying that voltage is OK, I ordered a main board. They seem to have a problem with the eeprom - cost $20, too cheap to not just replace. Will post when board gets here, keeping fingers crossed.Comment

Re: Vizio E320-A0
Replacement main board arrived today - I popped it in anticipating that things would work - obviously not!
Same symptoms - hit the start button, white light comes on near power indicator, then slowly fades out.
Attached is a photo of the main board, sorry, will add the back of the board later - batteries ran out on the camera and I needed to get back to work.
Thanks.Comment

Re: Vizio E320-A0
Hello,
Just an FYI, it is normal operation for the white standby light to come on and then fade out on this model. I have done a few of these models and they all had bad LEDs. Also you should check to see if you have picture with a flashlight. My guess would be bad LEDsComment

Re: Vizio E320-A0
Thank you nicholas1110,
This is the first time I have encountered an LED TV - so it is a learning curve. I figured out where the output for the LED's was on the main board - and it appears to be delivering 24V DC, I am assuming that is the correct voltage. If the LED's are bad - would you not get sound? or is there a circuit that shuts things down upon sensing bad LED's?
ThanksLast edited by trwilson70; 03-10-2015, 07:29 PM.Comment

Re: Vizio E320-A0
Attached are photos of the back of the main board and the entire back of the TV.
Looking at the main board, from lower left hand moving clockwise, 4 wires-power from the PS, 2 wires out to LED's, 6 wires to IR and power light, ribbon to Tcon, 4 wires to speakers, 4 wires to on/off+controls. Had it apart, there are 2 stips of LEDs with 5 LED's per strip.Comment

Do you know if the LED strips are connected in series or in parallel?

Re: Vizio E320-A0
Attached is photo of the LED's in reflector. Looks like it is wired in series - pulled reflector back to look at wiring. Power from main board goes to connector at upper left, the two connectors on the right are two wire conductor from top to bottom LED. At some point I will have to remove the reflector and get LED part numbers - when looking, it seems this model uses a variety of different LED configurations.
I should be able to check strips with external power. If one strip is bad - neither would light? Would they light on 12V, just dimmer? ThanksComment

Re: Vizio E320-A0
Each white LED has forward voltage between 3v~3.6V, so 10 in series you will need at least 30~36V plus Vdrop on the current limiter resistor if you are going to use external power supply, you you can check each LED one by one using 3V source with about 100 Ohms resistor in series to check each LED.

Re: Vizio E320-A0
OK - put unit back together - unplugged LED - reads 19.2 volts on main board?
Revision = went back to inspect and try to figure how I came up with 19v and this time I had 31.3 volts and the LEDs lit up!Last edited by trwilson70; 03-13-2015, 06:14 PM.Comment

Re: Vizio E320-A0
To finish up & learn more. This unit had been dropped - when I took up the LED's and the reflector, the underlying panel had a broken corner, I glued as best as possible. Still not sure why I got 19V the first time I checked. When I re-traced my steps - I had checked the LED connections and found the connection between the top and bottom not all the way on. I thought about testing at the top LED, but it made handling the live boards rather clumsy - that's when I disconnected at the main board and read 19V. When I rechecked I had the LED's connected - read 31v from hot side to grounded screw, 29v across the LED connection. Either way the unit works and I gave it to a couple on a fixed income.Last edited by trwilson70; 03-27-2015, 12:16 PM.Comment

by FrancescoVGood morning everyone,
I'm trying to repair an onkyo ht-r390 that has no sound output, despite the volume being at maximum, the rest seems to work; the video output signal (coming from an hdmi input) is present, but the audio is absent. Similar situation if I send an audio signal from any input I have no output.
The firmware reported is the following:
M:1.00/11107BLP
D:?.??/????????
O:1.00/11107AL
The DSP firmware given the question marks seems corrupt.

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

by momakaLooks like I may need a little help from the PSU experts (or anyone really!

So here’s what’s strange about this one: it appears to work normally (normal output voltages) and any PC is stable with it. However, after a while (typically 10-20 minutes, but time can vary depending on the load), there is a sweetish smell of burned magnet wire insulation emanating from the PSU. Upon opening the PSU after this happened (many times), I was able to confirm... -
