    Philips 50pfp5532d stuck on standby

Just looking for a little help here. I've got a philips 50pfp5532d which stopped turning on. I opened it up to see 4 bulging capacitors and 2 leaking so thought easy fix. I've replaced almost all capacitors on the board though other than the bigger ones but still no luck.
When it's plugged in it sounds like its about to power off but the blue light goes off and the red just blinks twice then stays solid.
If I unplug the y-sus it powers up with solid blue light but obviously no picture.
Does this sound like a power board issue or y-sus?
    Any help is much appreciated.

I would say Y-Sus and Y buffers this has the Samsung boards and PDP the same as PS50Q96/7 model, check for shorts on all heat-sink mounted components and drivers, and buffer IC s its normally the top one that fails ? lots on here about these Flocko

Thanks for the advice, sure enough there's a blown chip on one of the buffer boards, both sus boards have a bulging cap as well. Ordered a new buffer board to give that one last go.

Re: Philips 50pfp5532d stuck on standby

DON'T install the Y-buffer until you have checked the Y-main or YOU WILL KILL the new buffer if the Y-main is bad!

Hi the problem with these board are that if you replace the buffer board and the Y-Sus has a fault it will blow the new buffer, you need to check the Y-Sus board for shorts , this could then be checked by seeing if the set powers up with out the buffers connected to the Y-Sus , there is a small green LED on the Y-Sus if this is on that is showing that a fault is on this board, not that it is working, that's Samsung arse about face way of doing things? Hope this helps ,there is a guide on here about checking the buffers and Y-Sus that comes from Andy at Ohms if you put the LJ92-xxxxx in you might find it. Flocko
