Re: Sharp Aquos blinking error help needed
Ok, Soltys, please check the voltage across the 450V capacitor.
This is a large capacitor on the PRIMARY (DANGER) side of the power supply. Your volt meter will need to be on a high DC voltage range, red probe one end of cap, black on other end.
Do not touch the two leads together and do not touch anything on the primary side with any part of your body...
We are expecting around 320V in standby, ~390V running.Comment

Re: Sharp Aquos blinking error help needed
The PSU is being turned on by the main board already, if you want to force it on you could do so with a ~100-470 ohm resistor from 5V STBY to POWER ON.Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Sharp Aquos blinking error help needed
Tom, would it help at all that the guy we had it off said it was working fine and he took it to Switzerland and it was still working but then stopped whilst over there and started with this blinking error code, would that have anything to do with it or am I just clutching at straws?Last edited by Soltys; 02-18-2015, 05:21 AM.Comment

replace R7832 , R7833 , R7834 , your PFC voltage is too low. Value must be correct 511k.Comment

Re: Sharp Aquos blinking error help needed
Sup, Reecey? Found the issue with the old board? My PFC is 390V~ so all good there. I have that blinking yellow and red light, no sound, display nor backlight. No power to inverter either.Full-time computer repair tech (10am - 6pm) and full-time, (8am - 11pm), Ruby on Rails DeveloperComment

by olegeislerGot this SHARP AQUOS LC-70LE836S for free - did some basic troubleshooting, and found manual - without detail schematics though. Comes from a meeting room with extremely few working hours.
Symptoms :
When connected to mains, the logo blinks continously, approx 6 times per 10 seconds.
A press on MENU as per the manual changes this to one short blink, one long and then repeats.
Only 5V ( Standby ) on PSU module present, no AC_DETECT, no 12V, no 13V, no PS_ON from mainboard.
As I see it mainboard has some kind of life, but does not... -
by scubacamperI found another post on this site the other day which has been very helpful in troubleshooting this issue I am having with my tv. The left half of the screen is dark, and the other half is VERY slow to generate it's image - and it only generates part of its image at that.
Based on this yt video, I have narrowed it down to an issue (short?) on the left side of the display, somewhere in the system of ribbon cables.
when I remove the bezel and the rear cover, I can get the image to display correctly by manipulating the ribbon cables on the left side which connects the left lower display... -
by sefosterI have a Sharp Aquos LC-80LE757U that randomly made a loud popping noise when when watching TV one day. We found that the fuse blew and the thermistor. We ended up replacing the entire power supply board and have also replaced the TCON board. Now as soon as I plug the TV in it lights up and has the Sharp logo flashing on and off of the screen. If I unplug the ribbon cable from the TCON board to the main board I get the 2 long 5 short error code. Any ideas on where to go from here? We've tried resetting it but nothing has worked. If we plug it in and let it cycle through the flashing of the Sharp...

by jonah1024Hello!
I'm a few days old into this TV screens repair universe so please bear with me.
Recently, and all of a sudden my 40” 4K Sharp Aquos LCD TV turned on with colors all smudged in some places on the screen that remain like that even without any kind of video source. I do have image but the colors are smudged/tinted/ washed out in patches as per defects. This to me looks similar to burn in but I’m shore this is not an OLED.
- I did the classic unplug and hold power button to discharge the caps but it didn't help.
- I did a factory reset as well...5 Photos -
by bajdikHello, on Sharp LC-40LE830E is everything OK. Working great. If I put the 230 V off and on again, it just blinking white standby LED. I can power on only via VOL- and CH+ and POWER button on TV. After that, I can power off and power on again without problem (by buttons or remote control) until the 230 V is connected. If i put the plug off and on again, just white standby LED blinking. TV needs three button starting again.. On the first look, the backlight looks great, no darker or lighter spots. Any idea what is wrong?07-21-2023, 09:05 AM
