Hello, I have a small 19" luxor vestel built tv that seems to turn its self on in the early hours in morning when its cold. Just wandering where to check is it software or hardware, will take photos on may even set a camera up in the night to film it lol ?

I had a toshiba set once doing this it turned out it was doing freeview update scans during the early hours i turned this setting to off it never happened again. -

The issue = It's Vestel! LOL
Set goes cold, ESR of a cap goes low enough and turns set on maybe?

I was think that as well esr goes up with cold temps, it is in the coldest room in the house it uses craps any way. Mares well switch it off at the wall lol the stupid thing

Think about it for a minute. The PSU needs a PSon signal from the main board in order to turn on. The PSU can't turn on without that PSon signal and that comes from the main board. Plus I would disable the IR port first and see if that helps any. Put some black electrical tape over it etc.Last edited by CapLeaker; 02-27-2015, 05:24 PM.Comment

Freeview updates taking place at 3.00am....
I'll bet its 3.00am its happening......
Turn off the update feature in the Settings menu.
LOTS of sets do it, you'll hear the relay in the PSU operate then 1 minute later again. I have a Pioneer that does it but the set remains dark during the process.
Vestel obviously didn't bother making sure the set remained dark--so it fires up fully!TELEFIX

I had a woman drop off an almost brand new Toshiba TV at my work for recycling. she said she didn't want it she bought a new one. I said well I bet I can fix it for you at a low cost. She said nope, I want it out of my house it's haunted.... Turns out it turned it self on at exactly 3 AM as well. I just factory reset it. and it seems fine though. Still have it in my shop.Comment

Fixed the issue, simply by turning the freeview update off I also recapped the psu as well thanks for the help guys I alway thought that freeview update was at 5am. Anyhow turning it off has solved the issue the tv hasn't done it since

my samsung plasma used to do this ! used to freak me out ! you cant sleep so you go down to make a brew, your sitting in the dark.........and the tv turns on ! screen just glows............then turns off again ??? thought it was the other side trying to contact me ! ............but no.......it was the freeview updates !

Hello guys,
I have 32 inch Hitachi TV with Vestel PSU board 17IPS71. Tv was working normally and I shut it down normally via remote control.
The next morning it couldn't turn ON neither with remote controller or via button on the logic board.
There is a red standby LED ON, so it is not dead totally.
I have examined the PSU board and I cannot find find any traces of blown components or bulged caps. Electrolytic caps are manufactured by Elite.
I also check diodes and big MOSFET (with cooler/heatsink). It seems OK.

Hi, I was recently given a Bush Smart TV by a friend and the main board seems to be hanging on by a thread.
Before we get to that, my first obstacle was figuring out the model number since the back sticker has gone for a walk. Upon taking off the back case, I noticed the following Vestel parts, 17MB95m mainboard, 17IPS71 (what I'd assume is power supply) and a VES420UNVL-3D-S02 display panel. I have not posted in a while glad to see the forum is still going strong
I ahve a 50 inch luxor branded TV, it works well but it will not let me reset / return and store the updated TV channels.
it works fine while powered on BUT...
Every time I switch it off (stand by or mains) the channel lists reverts back to the old channel listings.
I have reset it multiple times, tried to reset via the engineers menu, ran to see if any updates are alavilbe over the internet.
its about 2 years old and "smart"... -
I have this tv for which I'd like to enable HDMI CEC (EasyLink as Philips calls it) if possible.
The CPU/SoC should support it and I found about the possibility of customizing the TV behavior/functionality with the hardware and software profiles.
I also got serial access to the TV through the SCART connector (side note how do you dump the firmware through that port?)

A device with specifications
Toshiba Satellite PRO A50-A is here to replace the hard drive.
The hard drive has been replaced and there is no problem, but there is another problem, but the customer does not care to fix the problem.
The device enters Windows without any problem and works, even I put pressure on the CPU and graphics, but when I turn off the system through Windows, if I want to turn it on again, the system switches, but it turns off quickly within a second, and this routine continues. It is turning on and off within a second and soon it turns off....
