Re: Panasonic TC-P54 Doornail Dead
only other option, find the cheapest TNPH0834 for whatever sreies it is (g20, G25) and do a swap of the eeproms to convert the donor board to the correct configuration of a 54". would have to do some research through the manuals to figure out which eeproms are different. Re: Panasonic TC-P54 Doornail Dead
Yea, $150 is borderline for economic viability. Puts the total outlay to $200 but likely would only sell it for $300...
On the other hand, I got picked clean this weekend on all my TVs (except a crappy RCA DLP) so I need the unit..
Hopefully, I'll have a compatible board flying around my shop...Comment

Re: Panasonic TC-P54 Doornail Dead
Yea, I hear ya... If I didn't need the inventory so bad, I would just shelve it and wait til one comes in with a shattered display.. I average about 5-10 busted TVs a week so one is bound to turn up..
On the other hand, the vast majority of what I get in is <50" so the chances of a 54" coming in is not so great...
We'll see what secrets my shop holds.Comment

Gonna take the plunge and get a replacement board..Comment

Re: Panasonic TC-P54 Doornail Dead
looking scarce and expensive. If it's a g20 about $136, $150 G 25 for modus repair.

Re: Panasonic TC-P54 Doornail Dead
I am thinking I am going to get the TNPH0834. Once I confirm operability, then I can search around for a TC-P54S2 eepromComment

Re: Panasonic TC-P54 Doornail Dead
the A7 connector on both is the same but i would expect the cable itself to be missing on pin 8
the a6 connector is the same, have not checked the pins used
The A1 is different, 8 pin on s2, 7 pin on G20. so cabling won't plug in directly, pins used are the same though.
and then we have the eeproms, nothing I can see lines up.
seems like a real hassle.Comment

Re: Panasonic TC-P54 Doornail Dead
Yea, I see your point...
Before I found out that I would need the AD board, I was looking at this one:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/281595598057...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
It doesn't have any XX designation and I have emailed the seller to get a closeup of the resistor-grid/designation area...
As I see it, that board is pretty much my only hope. Otherwise, I just shelve the unit and wait...Comment

You're not really saving anything significant when a repair is $142Comment

Re: Panasonic TC-P54 Doornail Dead
I came across one of your comments here....
https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=35362
with a link to ModusLink PTS..
http://www.moduslinkptstvboards.com/TXN/A1LVUUS/
That shows some promise as well..
Would you recommend them for the repair if I opt that route???Comment

Yea, the listing is kind of confusing.. Hopefully if he sends me a pic of the area requested that will clear it up..

never used them, i can't but I'd be confident.
serious investment for small return if only $300 sell, selling sc/sd/su as a package may yield $150 they are getting scarce. not as glamorous as getting it running again but same profit potentially unless the $300 is conservativeComment

Re: Panasonic TC-P54 Doornail Dead
i make plenty of remarks, all opinion really but everything I 've read about moduslink seems ok, including the odd failed repair. there's been a few posts about A board repairs being ok.

I have also thought very seriously about just doing parts thru EBAY.. As I mention I get 5-10 Units a week in various stages of (dis)repair. I could have a pretty decent Parts House business going..
But, beyond the fact that I really like repairing TVs (I do laptops and pooters too) I really don't like dealing with EBAY.. As a buyer, I have had 99.9% good experiences on Ebay. As a seller?? Tried it and it sucked..
Also, when I was doing both concurrently (selling parts on EBAY and repairing in my shop) I had found that, more often then not, I would sell a part on Ebay one week and the next week I would NEED that part..
Thanx for all the help and advice.. Guess I'll sit on it and percolate for a few days and see if any new developments shake loose..Comment

It is. Being that this is Tax Refund time around here, I have been getting a little more for the TVs I sell..

A board faults are hard to get out of cheaply now with boards hard to find.
If only it was a g20.Comment

Re: Panasonic TC-P54 Doornail Dead
Yea.. Not counting a couple 60" DLPs, a 54" is the largest I have come across for my shop.. I did get a schweet 60" Samsung Smart 3D, but that was for my home and was, shall we say, also not a smooth sailer..
But the large ones move pretty quick this time of the year. So, hopefully something shakes loose soon..
Thanx again.. As always, I learned a lot..Comment

by BuzztvHi,
This is my first post in attempting to keep my beloved 2013 Panasonic plasma tv going.
About 6 weeks ago the tv was turned on but then immediately shut off. There was no recent power surge or popping noise or any other symptom.
I checked all of the obvious things and decided to try a replacement power supply board (PSS in Panasonic lingo).
I would like to check the Vsus but this is one of the final models and at that point Panasonic did not indicate the Vsus and Vad voltages inside the chassis. It looks like they were discouraging people from making adjustments.... -
by badcappoHello, got a ST50 plasma TV for repair. No signs of life, not even blink codes. Opened it up to check the power supply, type MPF6914. Apparent issues from visual detection and measuring for shorts:
Diode type G972s6 - D101 with a short
Mosfet 06N90E - Q301 shorted
Fuse T5AH 250V - F103 blown
Diode D301 shorted
Relay DG1U-17VDC II - RL001 blown
I have not found a circuit diagram. Maybe someone here already dealt with a similar issue? Thanks for tips where else to check π... -
Hello! yes I know there is already lots of information about this issue. I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that originally displayed an 8-blink error code. Following the troubleshooting flowchart, I ended up replacing the SS board. However, even after replacing it, the issue persists. The TV turns on and stays on without displaying an image, and continuity is confirmed on all connectors. What am I missing hereπ€?
Ok Im a mechanical engineer ...but I thought I was able to follow a rather simple flowchart for electric troubleshooting π.

by Super360Hi everyone I have a plasma here that is absolutely dead no power light. When I press the power button the relays click the fan spins for a second then it's dead and nothing happens on the screen. Anyone have any suggestions?

by double_DDHi all,
As the title suggests, how can I be sure that my EC chip is really dead?
I've recently gotten into this hobby of laptop repairs, and have successfully brought back to life a couple with some easy fixes, mostly shorted caps.
Now I'm working on HP Probook 455 G8, that had some "devil" run around on 3V line, burning a bunch of stuff. Luckily I have a dead 455G7 (for spare parts) so I managed to fix it (swapped burned parts) to a point that it will charge (both on barrel jack and usb-c), but it doesn't want to turn on. There is a 3V3 on a keyboard... - Loading...
