You should start a new thread since your TV is not the same model as the OP.

You could press on the tab bonds and see if it changes anything.

hm, how sure are you about this?...no offense but you are a newbie on this forum so do you have any background knowledge/experience or just kinda taking a guess

i don't feel like buying an inverter if its not going to fix the problem

Have you ever heard of flash lights test to see if you do have pictures on the screen or not when the backligts no longer works due to inverter/lamp failuer?
Lets see now, you have backlights but no pictures on the screen as you can see it just has the glow in half of the screen with no pictures at all, using logic based on that the backlights are just the light sources so you can see the pictures on the screen, it is not related to how the pictures are created by other circuits. So if even you have partial lit screen, that is not going to stop you from seeing the pictures on the screen.
BTW, there is problem with the inverter, the whole inverter will be shout down and will not allow just part of it to work.

So you have the lamps sitting horizontally to light up the screen, there is no left side lamps or right side lamps to be turn off in just one side, the whole inverter circuit will be shutdown if it detects just ONE error in the inverter/lamp.
