Well, it looks like the decision's been made for me..

I had the unit leaning against my workbench to make room for another TV that just came in..

The guy was moving the new project onto my workbench and bumped this over...

      It's not a pretty sight.. :^(

Thanx for all the help.. As usual, I learned a lot..

Oops. sorry to see that I've made a few oopsies myself.
Did I leave the soldering iron on?

Probably just as well. It was beginning to look like a long project.. One of those blessing in disguise type things..

I have always been a Cup Is Half Full kinda guy..

Hitachi plasma panels are a PITA and usually expensive to fix for a sub par display. I have a 50" 1080p sitting here with a bad lower y drive buffer issue that I cannot find a short on. And these buffer boards are usually 80-120 each!

Sucks your panel got smashed up!

This is an LG panel tho... Hitachi were buying in LG panels for their smaller 42" EDTV sets near the end of production of their plasma business. (I think Panasonic bought some of their factories to expand the business.)
